It's good to see good news about medical cannabis and our community. Very nice.

We need more stories about the good the medicine does and the people it helps.

"We're ahead, not only in numbers of patients and caregivers enrolled, but the way law enforcement and local government has accommodated it and made an effort to learn about the law and respect it," Francisco said. "I'm not aware of the arrest of any registered patients" in Berrien or Van Buren counties. Am I the only one that has a problem with that statement?

No. It appears to me that he painted a rosy picture and that no ones rights are being trampled on. Am I the only one that reads it that way? People are still being persecuted by leo. It seems we missed a chance to point that out. Am I wrong? I'm not trying to antagonize anyone. Just getting it off my chest.

I didn't have a problem with it. Perhaps you could elaborate on your concerns?

was a short (not in-depth) article about (1) persons need and use for MM. That same article took the time, type space and opportunity to address the issue of the backlog card registration and issuance. I see it as a small victory in the education battle.

IMO the rest of the story was excellent, dare I say perfect. But I still say it was a missed opportunity.

Almost felt that the article could have been written about ME. Just insert "Skip" for "Jeff" and it's my life. Amen!

is a pretty good place to be a patient or caregiver. Our sheriff is a good, dare I say "compassionate" guy. There were some problems in the beginning. Since the day we met with Sheriff Bailey in Three Oaks, I am not aware of another issue involving a patient or caregiver that was within the law. Heck, since that meeting I am not even aware of someone with even only a rec. having a problem here in Berrien county. Wait, I take that back. SWEAT raided a house in Niles, discovered the husband was a patient, apologized, and left. Our sheriff deserves praise IMO. Thanks Sheriff Bailey!!! While I understand your point Sgt. Pepper, our sheriff is such a good guy, it would have been a slap in the face to throw that in an article here. I think pointing out the problems with MDCH and the resulting troubles it causes for law enforcement is MUCH more appropriate. Is the MDCH delay our board's top priority yet? I fail to see any bigger fish we have to fry.

I did nothing to deserve a search warrant. I live between Three Oaks and Sawyer MI and got a searched (mild raid) 3-2-10 under the cover of sundown by a black hooded narc squad. And they didn't stop and leave as soon as they found out I was legit card holder. Although they did seem to stop all interest in charging or arresting me after verifying my card. Some details left out, but I'll share what seems generally helpful. Apparently someone is suggesting that 'any' suspected pot smoking or growing in Michigan is necessarily illegal. Apparently it was enough for a judge to sign a search warrant. The reason they offered for the search warrant, supposedly someone gave a tip that someone came to our house and smoked pot. That was such a thin claim, so he also said that they were watching the place. I'm serious!!! That is the only info I have for why we got searched like that. We have only had a few visitors since I've gotten my card last Sept (mostly just several visits from the compassion club or NORML or more from a family member who is also a card holder) and I sincerely trust all our visitors are genuine and/or friends, not otherwise. Now, we also had a window with some light showing 24/7, possible suspect for a grow opp. Sure, I should have covered it better, but I figured there is no significant chance of a raid,,, but it happened. Without wanting to sound un-neighborly, perhaps it was some neighbor. I'm quiet and tend to keep to myself. I'd rather help someone than otherwise, so since I've been physically in pain and not working in recent years, I've become somewhat withdrawn. I don't want to be thought of as needy or unproductive. I used to drive truck over the road, I went to college for computer programming, assembled every computer I've owned since my 1st 386, I might be struggling, but I am not done yet. ==relevance stretch== BTW, I believe I have created a new engine/pump design that is more efficient than most/all other designs. It's a multi-turbine arrangement, enclosed in an airtight engine block/casing and functions exactly like a power and exhaust stroke engine, like most steam engines for example. My design functionally has a new sort of power and exhaust chambers, there are no piston cylinder arrangement, instead there are numerous rotors that might look more like a wankle rotary on the inside. It's super low internal friction because the parts always remain barely or not quite touching. Interest in this design has already begun, although it's still too early to make solid claims yet, we have no working prototype yet, but we are half way there with computer modeling. The concept is solid and like many great innovations, borrow some different things from existing technology. If the design is successful, it may become the most efficient engine design. Plus it should be ultra smooth and quiet, as such could last much longer than current standards. It would be relatively low in weight and size for it's power rating. I think there are something like 16 times more power stroke events per revolution than similar 4 and 2 stroke engines. The resulting amount of torque even at lower rpm's, may be exceptional. I am hoping this time, its a win win situation. ;) If I get successful, we all will have a big party, 420 friendly! ==relevance stretch== But, one of her family used to make visits pissing off the neighbors by blaring loud music, but especially for (on one occasion) driving like a maniac accelerating and breaking hard around our icy driveway. To their credit,, and even though the raid should have never happened,, after they did the search and did not find the criminal element they were there to find, they were professional, decent and left in short order. Serve yourself well to be careful because some are more than willing to judge against you, just because you smoke pot. Before they left, I asked them, if I had my paperwork clearly posted on the front door showing my mmj card, would you have still done this, and they said yes, they would have still executed the search warrant regardless of my consent. Which seems obvious by the way they introduced themselves to us, but, being mindful of all my fellow mmj michiganders, I had to ask.

Most other reports I've heard about police at your home probably did not involved a search warrant, mine did. Is the generic claim of smoking/growing pot (still?) sufficient for legal action against?? I mostly just wanted to share what happened to me so it might help others. Peace

I had been out of dried usable for the previous week or so, it was the second time of being dry totally nearly a month without meds simply because of some clones dying on me. However, I did have some vaporizer leftovers (perhaps several cups worth) I was going to cook with, they asked about it, I explained what it was, and they left me with all that, which was all I had.
