So,as you can see, i have been looking for a caregiver for some time now...
I got an email from a guy, says he has his first patient and is looking to add more...
asked if I had sent in my initial paperwork (yes), and if so, it will cost me $100.00 to set me up for a caregiver.
is this true, or just another guy trying to rip me off?
I was unaware that it cost anything to set someone up as my caregiver...

It costs 10 bucks to file the proper paperwork to add or change a caregiver. Not saying this person is trying to rip you off, but it sounds fishing to me.

Changing of caregivers is only $10 if anyone wants more than that they are ripping you off.

I got some good stuff, really reasonable prices. Mine is the best in the state, real exspensive setup. Send me 200 dollars for your caregiving fee ( ill take care of the stuff for you ) and we will get this ball rolling!

Myself, I haven't met all these bad caregivers people keep talking about.

I do know of a few CGs who charge new patients for processing the CG application and then give away the first batch of meds for free. This way the CG is not "selling marijuana" to someone whose card has not been in queue for 21 days yet...hence if the "patient" is a LEO, the transfer is a misdomeaner "transfer without remuneration" rather than a 2-year + felony "selling marijuana to someone who is not authorized to use marijuana."

Consider that.

There is always more to the story. I was talking to a patient I was thinking about signing up. I got a bad feeling about him when he called me at 9:00pm (twice, maybe three times)(while I was at a family member's high school play) and was upset by morning when I had not called him back yet, and he accused me of only trying to sign him up to boost plant count. I decided we were not a good fit. Later I saw a post from him.....complaining about CGs not wanting to talk to patients...and only signing people up to get plants...despite the fact that I told him he could possess the plants and had agreed to service him for less than half of the average prices you hear about. He was looking for free clones - 2 to 3 feet tall.

I do understand that there are risks of being a caregiver, and no one wants to work for free...
but, on the other hand, don't think that I, as a patient, can't do basic math.
that's all I'm saying

Signing someone up will only cost $10 if they are already a patient. However, consider that different caregivers will allocate costs differently. $100 sign up fee may be due to that caregiver needing to acquire genetics for you. Maybe product will cost you less than average later if you pay other costs up front? Get the entire story and have an understanding with someone as to all costs before you jump to conclusions.

I guess when harvest time comes, the CG can hold on to 2.5oz for him, for later use....

Also, the CG can supply the patient when they're running low. The CG would also be allowed to possess an extra 2.5oz at any time, even without the plants, so the CG could increase the amount allowable without necessarily increasing the number of plants.

The switch of caregivers fee is only $10 anything beyond that is between you and your new caregiver if he or she in this to be a caregiver they should be footing the bill for their startup costs and not passing it on to their new sick patients.

Very true. It's easy to make money off the sick, but that is not what this is supposed to be. I think the only way around this is to set a standard. If noone is willing to pay for caregiving, than there would be no market. Only patients that cannot grow plants should have caregivers. Otherwise, invest that scam money the dirty caregivers want, into your own system to grow your own. There are people out there that acually care about patients. They are hard to find though.

2 to 3 Feet Tall=PLANTS, not clones, unless you've got a MASSIVE humidity dome. LOL

I talked to a patient that had been quoted a "startup fee" of several hundred dollars, but refused to signup with that CG due to bad vibes overall. Inquired as to exactly what all was involved in the overhead adding a new patient, i.e. genetics, possible extra equipment, etc etc. This particular person said they'd have no problem helping a CG with any overhead involved in adding them as long as they knew that the CG was trustworthy and that the funds were actually going towards something related to their 12 plants.

On the one had, CG should not be trying to squeeze PT's esp if they have limited resources. I footed the bill for one PT's entire set of fees because I knew that they could hardly even afford mailing costs, let alone the fees. On the other hand, if a PT has the resources and is willing to assist in acquiring genetics, equipment, or whatever, I'm cool with that too, but I let them know that 1) it isn't required, and 2) what they choose to contribute is up to them.

Thanks to one of my PT's, I have a great new set of lamps for my cloning station. One of my other PT's likes variety and wants to buy genetics for me once their card comes in. Did I require that they do this? NO. Am I grateful for it and them? Abso-freakin-lutely! lol
