"WHY WE NEED TO ADD NOT MODIFY THE CURRENT ACT TO SET UP A CLEARLY LEGAL , VERY LOOSELY REGULATED DISPENSORY COTTAGE INDUSTRY SYSTEM SUPPLIED BY CAREGIVERS AND PATIENTS ! LET THE SICK WHO WILL BE DISCRIMINIATED AGAINST BY SOCIETY UNTIL IT MATURES DRIVE FORWARD SUPPLY AND REAP ANY REWARDS . THEY ARE THE GROUP WITH COMPASSION AND NEED . COTTAGE INDUSTY HAS BEEN PROVEN TO BE MORE COST EFFECTIVE THEN CORPERATE CONTROLLED METHODS .CANNABIS PATIENTS DON'T BUY BAD APPLES AT THE FARMERS MARKET AND THEY WONT BUY BAD CANNABIS AT A COMPASSION CENTER OR FROM A CARD HOLDING IDENTIFYABLE CAREGIVER .

THERE SHOULD BE NO TAX ON MEDICINAL HERBS . THE SPILLOVER ACTIVITY WILL DRIVE ENOUGH $$$$ INTO THE ECONOMY . OR JUST RETURN THE PLANT TO NATURE WHERE IT BELONGS . THERE IS NO REASON TO PAY FOR THE PRIVILAGE OR BE PENALIZED FOR SELF TREATING WITH CANNABIS . PATIENTS ARE ABSORBING THE COSTS AND SAVING SOCIETY MONEY OVER THE ACCEPTED INSANE EXPENSE AND DAMAGE RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH LONG TERM USE OF MODERN FDA DRUGS .DRUGS CREATED BY MAN WITH A PROFIT MOTIVE THAT CORRUPTS . GROWING YOUR OWN IS PHYSICALLY PLUS MENTALLY THERAPUETIC AND INEXPENSIVE FOR PATIENTS . THAT RIGHT SHOULD NEVER BE GIVEN OR TAKEN AWAY . FOR THOSE THAT CANNOT GROW INNEXPENSIVE ACCESS IS REQUIRED. KEEP IT SIMPLE . NEVER SETTLE FOR ANYTHING LESS . WE ARE MICHIGAN WE CAN DO IT RIGHT ." A PATIENT .

VAN BUREN TWP: Drug deal gone wrong results in alleged gun fire

Published: Thursday, November 18, 2010

On Friday, officers from The Van Buren Township Police Department were dispatched the 8800 block of Parkwood Manor on reports of a shooting.

While en-route, police were advised that a Van BurenTownship Department of Public Works employee working in the area observed a green van fitting the description that had left the area and the township employee was following them toward I-94.

With this information, officers were able to intercept and stop the green van on I-94 which was occupied with six people who were taken into custody for questioning.

The suspects were all from Inkster and were cooperative with police in their investigation. The suspects told police that they met with the victim to purchase marijuana and during their meeting the victim allegedly, produced a handgun making threats. A fight ensued between the occupants and the victim at which time they heard a gunshot and then fled the scene.

Meanwhile, other reports by callers confirmed that a male who was assaulted had left the scene with a female in a red older vehicle. Officers canvassed the area looking for witnesses but did not find any evidence of shots being fired or a gun.It was later found that the victim’s girlfriend, who resides at Parkwood Manor, had taken the victim, who is a Detroit resident, to Detroit Receiving Hospital for treatment. It was confirmed by Detroit Receiving Hospital that the victim was treated and released around 11 p.m. for injuries sustained from being struck in the face during a fight.

After the investigation was completed, three of the six occupants from Inkster were held for outstanding warrants from other jurisdictions and did not want to pursue a complaint with police. The victim and girlfriend were uncooperative and not wanting to file assault charges against the others involved.
