Michigan Medical Cannabis Patient Catches Record Square Grouper In Detroit River .

Over the past Holiday Weekend , in the first verified encounter in recent State History , Michigan Cannabis Patient Sam Snagline ( Former Record Holding Bass Pro Tournament Fisherman ) hooked one of the largest Square Groupers of lore in North America . Long known as a highly sought after fish that travels primarily in Southern Waters of the Gulf of Mexico or off the Florida East Coast , Square Grouper Fishing is a popular little known American Sport . In fact , fishing for square grouper is so enticing it has been reported to literly break families apart .

 

Said Sam " that won't be a problem here ,as soon as , I sighted that school of Square's I got on the cell phone and had my whole family out there catching as many as we could . I'm just glad we got them all ,and have them stashed in a safe out of the way place . You know in spite of its popularity the law is still cloudy on the legalities of Square Grouper Fishing . It's kind of like the Military - don't ask don't tell or else ."

 

Queried about what he planned to do with his families catch Sam Stated " Well they don't taste that good raw or smoked , we plan on sun drying them and harvesting the oil or making a special hash . We utilize a secret family process passed down for generations ." Asked what that was he stated " I would tell you but then I'd have to kill you " - laughing . " I am just so ecstatic to be able to get out of the house . Last year when I was on a more accepted poly pharmaceutical regimen with dosing controlled by a managed care Doctor , I was sick all the time , while being ridiculed by the medical system ,and my complaint's ignored . I might not be cured but I feel better , and most important feel like I have some control again . I am better able to work with my Doctors to adjust proper doses of my prescribed medications instead of living in a agitated , angry , confused ,daze of insanity - suffering more then I could take . Sure you need a starting point for me thats always been lower and less flavors then what they provide .

 

He went on to say ,"Sadly , not all of my Doctors have open minds and hearts towards Medicinal Cannabis and are not reciprocating in a supportive manner towards my new found desire to reinvigorate the battle with my medical situation . They are discontinueing care or other medications for what seems like spite and nothing more ,asking for pain contracts that deny medical cannabis and such . They make statements like " I am afraid of the Goverment , insurance Companies , and liabillity " ! When your life is on the line this can be extremely discouraging , disruptive , even deadly , but their is no turning back for me . Everything foreign you put in your body has risk but I finaly found something with benefit's . I sure wish results like mine would happen for everyone ... you just never know until you try . I use a few ounces a week , some do well with a fraction of that or need much more especially for oils and food products . The main thing is this isn't toxic and often helps other medications work or be tolerated better , lowered , and you dose yourself . It's so safe any starting dose is ok just dont operate dangerous machinery or drive until you understand the effects . Dosing yourself is something the established medical community should look at to improve patient comfort and results . This idea of having standards and fixed rules for everything is killing as many people or more then having none , running up costs and preventing others from getting anything done ! "

 

Several fishermen were seen grousing around the dock and trying to talk to Sam about the Square Grouper that reportedly weighed in at over 190 lbs . ' Stated Terry Trophyfisherman " I have heard rumors about these things for years but their about as hard to find as a Blue Pike ! Apparently hardly anyone has ever caught one and can control their excitement long enough to stay put and talk about it ! Darn , wish I could of been here when they were out there bobbing up and down top feeding , I assume , before Sunset . Rumors were you could find them up in Gitchi Gummi ( Lake Superior ) last summer . Every time I hear about them before i can get near their gone . I never run into anything but the Coast Guard or the Marine Patrol out checking fishing and drivers licenses along with doing boarded safety checks . "

 

We both turned back to ask some more questions of Sam who seemed to be separated from us by a ever increasing crowd as the word continued to get out . " Sam , Saaaam , Saaaaaaaaam ," I cried but he was nowhere to be found in the confusion ! Soon Helicopters were seen in the air the mystique of the Square Grouper consuming every available resource in the area apparently . It was obvious to us that the State of Michigan Tourist Bureau could definitely revive tourism utilizing the Square Grouper Industry ! This was one crowd drawing spectacle . I thought don't tax the Square Grouper Industry or over regulate it ....just embrace it in a open minded positive impartial light .Similar to how a empowerment zone is treated . I could definitely see a cottage Industry evolving around the Square Grouper . One , that spun off all sorts of activity into our local economies currently standing businesses . The tax revenue and spillover benefits would be a big boost for the State .

 

 

As I put down my pen at the end of the day while sitting in the Van under the Ambassador Bridge looking out over the Detroit River , I smiled , knowing for a few hours through the use of Cannabis , Medical patient Sam Snagline ,was not only able to feel the excitement of his former dreams , in spite of his medical condition , but actually fulfill them in a small way . Though a unofficial feat , like most known catches of Square Grouper - Sam and a few close , family and friends , know the truth . They will stand tall , proud of their accomplishments this day . Miracles in Cannabis are happening in Michigan and around the World all the time .

That's got to be a record, in my day's of fishing them and there were a lot we never saw one over 22lbs and most were around 15 to 16. I think the smaller one's are easier to filet but the large one's serve a lot more people. Peace
