There was a discussion about THC content today (a popular topic) but one thing no one seems to discuss much is the "comedown" or after effects of certain strains. Not many reviewers put this data in their write-ups either. It's something that's fairly important to me as some days I like to medicate early and don't want to feel like crap later on. I supposed this could be listed under "type of high" or maybe "tolerance."

I will list the strains I've grown and their comedowns. Please feel free to contribute what strains you think have the best or non-existant comedowns.

White Widow - the Comedown is the only reason I might stop growing this. The THC content is high so maybe that is why after I use it, within two hours it has mostly worn off and I feel almost an alcohol induced type of hangover. My body feels kind of stiff and uncomfortable, I get dry mouth, and my head is foggy.

Strawberry Cough - Comedown? What comedown? This stuff is just smooth and long lasting. The effects are pretty mild but long lasting.

Northern Lights - Comedown = sleep. This pure indica knocks me out.

Bubblegum - This strain is very long lasting, like three hours. The comedown isn't as light as SC but barely noticeable.

Blue Dream - This strain also has a nice mellow comedown. The haze and blueberry cross really balances out.

I'll add more as I grow and test them!

That is one thing I forgot to mention: MJ has different effects for everyone. Thanks a lot for the comment. There are also many variables to consider, such as when it was harvested, phenotype, curing, etc. I just want this to be a starting point for people in search of their perfect strain. Strawberry Cough was really close for me but it doesn't grow very well for me, so the search continues...

Vortex is supposed to be one of the strongest strains available so I'm not shocked that you got a headache. I tried growing two seeds last year but both turned out male dammit! Maybe someday SubCool will offer femmed seeds.

Swampy's Free Leonard starts out very 'up' for me, then there is a slow easy comedown about 3 hours later that is very meelllllooooow. easy to sleep with.

BubbleGum i agree with Nix on this one. the cut i got through KindBuds has just been a really great plant. He sure picked a winner there!

Iranian G13 - Kicks my butt. I try to hit this stuff when the lights go off. The after affect leaves me tired and mellow.

Super Lemon Haze - Very good daytime smoke. Not much of an after affect other than a voracious appetite.

Chem Sour - Very potent medicine. Decent for daytime smoke if you have a high tolerance. If not wait until your work for the day is done. After effects are hard to ascertain on this one. It will lock you to the couch from about the 4th hit.

Pineapple Chunk - I just have to quote a guy I know on this one: "Holy **** this tastes like juicy fruit!" A very nice treat to have some of this. The after effects will leave you sleepy though.

The samples I got of these were all grown exceptionally well though. Very very potent medicine.

Free Leonard: same reaction I get. I really like the "come down". It is a "relaxed awareness" feeling. Great stuff.

Really want to get a Bubblegum clone. Have been waiting and looking for a year.

I have heard good things about Free Leonard. As far as Bubblegum goes, have you thought about just buying a seed? TH Seeds is the closest to the original, as far as I know. I've personally had better luck with mother plants grown from seed rather than clones.
