Gage Green has Banna Puff in sed format.  Their JoJO OG is some FIRE..!!  Pretty much all Gage Green is off the hook, if you can get their stock.  It goes out quickly.

Faygo, while I am sure you have what you believe is the real cut I know Gage Green being located in the Bay in Cali has open access to every REAL clone they want.  So not to discredit you in any way I am just saying every so called "CLONE" came from seeds at one point.  they never just magically appear.  So there are people who dog seeds and say they are not real or that seeds are watered down.  All i can say to these types of people is that they are basically foolish.  it all comes down to what parents were actually bred into a strain.  Plain and simple.  Most of the people out there selling clones for thousands of dollars are just hyping a strain up to get paid.  And in reality you can strain hunt for a TRUE WINNER by simply going thru packs.  Not saying I am burning thru thousands of packs I am just trying to make a point.

 

For example Ken's Grand Daddy Purple states he has the REAL GDP...and I have a pack of his seeds yet to crack and I am sure he believes his is the REAL Purp to be true.  However we all know Cali is filled with literally thousands of Purps grown in the Triangle.  So it's all what you can make of it.  And if you got kill kill strains then people recognize you for that. 

 

I am not knocking anybody or trying to pump up my strains I don't even sell them or push them.  I just use them personally and for my patients.

 

Sorry that got so long winded but I always have to address this situation for what it is.  Genetics are Genetics and if you have poop or truly watered down gentics then they just don't shine. If you know you have real deal it shows by how it does medicinally for you and for others.  Good MJ does not really need to get hyped up or Marketed it simply finds it way thru and thru.

nice article but really i have it. i also have  blue dream, pre98 bubba kush, purple elephant, purple haze, purple kush, kryptonite, grapes, sfvog, apricot, GDP the list goes on. lets say it's good to have friends who live in LA and Denver. I used to pop seeds left and right it is a hit or mis. most times it will be a miss. The money you spend on seeds and the time to see if you have the pheno you want is not worth it.

Everybody in Cali specifically, San Fran and Oakland have Cherry Pie and Banna Kush.  I am curious how people obtain "real" clones that are said to originate from Cali and how they end up in MI. 

 

Always makes me wonder.  I have family in the foothills of Rough n ready CA but they have never shipped me clones thru the mail.  And yes that is an actual town...lol...an old mining town.

Yes it is very TRUE that EVERYONE in "San Fran" and especially "Oakland" follows the law and would not ever ship stuff out of state.

Yes and no.  If no one pops seeds, no new clones will be found.  For instance blue dream isn't that old of a clone, 5 years max maybe.  If someone hadn't popped however many blueberryxSSH beans, that clone wouldn't exist today.  And look at White Fire.  Not only is it an amazing seed line with a near guarantee of multiple keepers per pack, the elite clone from the line, Wifi #3, is better than both the parents.  Those parents, The White and Fire OG, are no slouches themselves.  

 

I also am seeing a lot of growers who start out with an elite clone and never learn beyond that.  There are people with a room full GDP who don't know how to germ a seed or in some cases how to even clone a plant.  I really think they are missing out on a lot of the learning opportunities not starting from seed, selecting a mother, and growing out clones.  Their lack of knowledge shows when even simple problems come up.  Not to mention a lot of the elite clones are somewhat tempermental, not all that well suited to a new grower.

 

That being said, there are amazing clones available and everyone should probably have at least a couple in their garden if they can get them.  Some phenotypes are only going to be found by luck or going through a ton of seeds.  Look at things like strawberries.  You don't start with seeds for strawberries because 99 out of 100 phenos will be good for no one but the birds, and it takes 2 years to find that out.  With strawberries, its like all the growers in the world use about 10 clones, depending on climate, harvest window, etc.  Bananas are an even more extreme example.

 

Of course I am talking elites here.  Not some "blue mango super chunk cheese" someone found by popping one bag seed.  But if you are lucky enough to have access to, or bold enough to seek access to, a verified elite clone, you ought to grab it.

The hardware stores probably runout of this around spring planting time, even during drought years, and are just confused.
