I am happy with the trimmer sold by xtgear on eBay. As long as you do not overdo it it is ok. It has a plastic lid so that allows me to view the bud. Any really big buds I do by hand. On bud specifically like Pineapple express that has a great many orange hairs on the surface of the bud I am inclined to hand trim it.

I did have a problem with a faulty mechanism which they replaced to my satisfaction. They are ok .
