My 2 Strains I'm Running - I Need Your Advice!

Recommended Posts

Hey group

I am running pineapple express and larry og in the same tent. I am nearing completion (day 37 of flower) and I am curious what you guys think about my idea......

The Pxpress is a 8 week flower

The Larry OG is a 9-10 week flower

To keep things simple I was thinking about harvesting on the 9th week - this way I can shut the lights off 48 hours prior to harvest, keep them on the same feeding schedule, same flushing schedule... just keeps things really simple. I realize that the Larry may be a little premature but that might be a risk I'm willing to take. See I'm growing them with a trullis and the netting has them all combined by now and it would be difficult to seperate them.

Suggestions? Comments? Concerns?

Please help.

Thanks!

You should evaluate the plants at that point, it is too hard to say with any certainty what stage they will both be at. When you see them at 9 weeks you will know if you want to chop them both at that time. If you have a bunch of clear trichomes you may be sacrificing more than you want. If the larry is too immature, you will probably want to go in with scissors, and get as much pineapple out of there as you can if it is starting to get over ripe.

I start checking trichomes @ week 7. I've had some strains finish earlier than I expected. You should determine at which point in developement you would like to harvest and stick with that. ie 100% cloudy or 20% amber. If one strain finishes before the other you could always stagger the harvest. Just cut the top buds and let the rest stay in place for another week or so. Keep a daily watch on the trichomes as you get closer to your projected harvest date as they can change rapidly.

No one ever said it is necessary to use an extended dark time at the end of a cycle. You can just cut it down after a normal dark period and it will be fine. That is how most growers have always done it.

And I cut it straight from the roots right? I don't hang the whole plant (roots and all) upside down? Just the main stalk and the branches? What do most people use to support that kind of weight?

A piece of string . Some people just cut it up and put it in a paper bag hanging from the ceiling . No sane person educated on the topic of cannabis would count stems with buds as a plant , cuttings or clones !

I am confused why many think you should hang the whole plant up without the roots and still use it against your plant count . If someone wants to address that I am willing to learn and listen . I just don't get why you can't have material curing and 12 plants . The law allows you 2.5 ozs dried and cured and obviously other material curing or nobody could ever be in compliance if their plant was more then 2.5 ozs and thats not practical or realistic .
