My Spyware Is Lighting Up Continuously Whenever On Mmma?

Not accusing anyone of anything. I'm not cyber-with-it. Comodo notifies everytime is detects a virus or spyware. When I'm on MMMMA (and certain other sites) it is lighting continuously, notifying while it is quarantining malware. Any ideas?

False positive you have. A flagged threat that is not actually a threat. For years I'm running the full suite Vipre Premium Enterprise Edition [always with current defs] on my network and never a single peep from the MMMA boards. Besides, if there were ever a real security threat here, a few thousand scanners of members would have flagged it within a few minutes and everyone would know about it, not just one person's computer lighting up.

 

In the event of that type of breach the site owners and admin would immediately shut down the boards for quarantine and removal of whatever the threat was and then a quick repair to the site. It would be so quick before they know, no more than a small handful of people would ever get infected if any at all. Nearly everyone has AV and malware scanners today and it's a good thing. Also important is knowing the proper settings so a person can surf safely yet securely without being falsely beeped a million times a day.

 

Like Kingdiamond said, harmless ads are triggering your scanner...maybe even a visiting web-bot depending on your security settings, but the Vipre suite has found absolutely no malicious code, ActiveX, virus, malware or security threats to ever be at this MMMA site while I visited and I joined by invitation on 14 Dec 08. You can rest easy brother. You're safe here. You're among friends.
