with the right light 600 w flower 400 veg you can produce cannabis for under 20 bucks an oz...

That's bulllshiiitt. Disagree? Then please show your accounting and it better be precise cause I'm calling you OUT!

This is so misleading and unfortunate, aND ITS ALSO a great disservice the mmj Commmunity.

In fact if you have any thot you are actually right and didn't just misspeak or mistype when you meant 120 an ounce

TAKE UP THIS CHALLENGE AND JOURNAL YOUR 20 BUCK PER OUNCE GROW.

PLEASE.

Proof up, if you can, or revise that $20 to reflect the reality of costs that growers face.

How much value did you give to space, whether rented or owned? That can be $20 an ounce itself.

The cost of the space only matters if that space was going to be doing something else, is your house payment less if you stop growing?

I'll tell ya......looking at clean condos for sale for $30,000 ..... with $250/month fees that cover heat, water, cable, exterior maintenance, snow, lawn, security.....so for about $420 (ha)/month one can have a clean, secure, safe, place to live....maybe even a pool and other amenities.....vs the cost of maintaining a place suitable to grow? Is your house payment less if you stop growing...well....if you plan ahead and plan smart than yes...it is....a house you can grow in is more expensive to keep than a house you can't grow in.

If you have extra space in your home and feel a financial pinch, it is time to downsize...or "grow" up to make utility of your extra space. I trust this answers your question.

Kinda funny, my first grow was in a condo. If you are buying specifically for a grow house then that is a different animal but I do think I could show comps that would be suitable for growing, let me know where that condo is. So yes you did answer the question but I disagree. If a patient is living somewhere they can grow, then when we compare the cost they incur at a dispensary ever month versus the cost of growing, adding in the cost of the space is ludicrous. Not a commercial operation.

So if you were renting a room to a boarder would it be free of cost if you weren't already using the space? Would you give away free space in your pole barn for someone to store their crap just because you weren't using the space?

The fact is it is your room and it has value.

you guys are getting caught up on accounting here, does a patient growing for themselves consider the empty basement he grows in as part of how much his meds cost him? Are we not talking about how much it costs for a patient to grow for themselves. A patient growing does not add labor to the cost either. If your trimming instead of watching television, no reason to include in the cost. Are we bookkeeping or trying to get an actual cost to the grower. The question was raised that $ 20 an ounce was moo poo because you must expense the space you rent or own, a personal grower would not include that in his costs imo.

Patient A lives in house that costs a million, he spends an average of thousand a month at the dispensary. Patient A decides he might as well grow it himself. Adding up the costs he realizes growing in that empty room will actually cost him 1500 a month for that space. Patient A goes back to dispensary.

Yes I think you see it the way I do now.

Not many people living in a big, $1million dollar house have a lot of free time on their hands. The guy who lives in the $1million house.....his time, his space...is all worth worth than the average person who lives in a $100,000 house. There is a pretty good chance that said $1million house dweller guy earns $250,000+ per year. It probably isn't worth his time or space to grow.

Roughly $50 per month depending what you pay for a KW/h.

Look at your electric bill... 1000w x 12 hours a day x days in a month x KW/h price

so 7 weeks of 12 hour light about 80 bucks,,,, 25 oz off a 1000 watts many lucas growers do this 3 bucks worth of soil per plant, 4 bucks worth of nutes,,, add up to about 15 bucks per oz,...
