The Leaf Mysteries

Hey guys and gals, I have 2 questions about something that I'm experiencing recently. I'm getting ready to put the ladies to flower next week so I'd like to address this now rather than during flower.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1) Yesterday I was caring for my ladies and noticed a some holes in my leaves. There is only the one set of holes on just that leaf, none of the other leaves. And the plant next to it, same way(SEE PIX), just 1 leaf on the entire plant. I pruned off both leaves and discarded them but I don't want it coming back during this critical time. Now I will say this, about a month ago I killed 2 fruit flies in the room and immediately put up 3 fly strips. The strips have been up for weeks and there is like 3 flies on each one so it's not a big problem. In fact, I haven't seen any at all, not 1. Anyway, my question is, Has anybody seen this before and what is causing it. Could it be fruit flies that I'm not seeing or another parasite? Maybe even a fungus?

2) The other thing I noticed about them is that on some(not all) have like this white powdery residue(PIC WITHOUT THE STAR) on the very edges of some leaves. I was thinking maybe residue leftover from me misting with tap water? Calcium, Sodium, Lime maybe?  It's on the leaf, not in the leaf. And again, it's only on some. I've heard things about Pm mold and seen pictures but I personally don't think it looks like it. Does Pm mold start at the edges?

Both issues are not severe at all but as a new grower I'm trying to find out as much as I can about it. I'm like a sponge right now trying to soak in as much info as I can without my head popping and confetti flying out-LOL. A member here "Herb Cannibis" posted a priceless diagnotic tool(link below) that has helped me immencely but I don't see anything in there with the issues I'm having. Any info would really be appreciated. --Rusty

Props to Herb for posting this  :bong7bp:

^^^WOW, great link, thanks. I went ahead and pruned the affected leaves after I took the pix and so far everything looks good. I think I'm being a little bit over cautious. It was only a leaf or two on each plant. I can't expect every leaf to be perfect. I'm still on schedule to flower and may even do it a few days early. I'll post pictures as they progress.

Here's a couple leaves for ya'll that I didn't find in the links me and Sledge posted. Keep in mind, the pics posted are the same plant. My biggest concern is the yellowing leaves and dryness only at bud sites. And the second thing is it has some mutant leaves. Not all of the leaves, just some. And I shall also point out that this plant is growing and budding like CRAZY so I don't know whats up. Has anyone seen this before?

Has this plant been grown out before w/o any of the leaf abnormalities? (Is it a clone?).

If so, then you possibly have some issues with light cycle interruptions or environmental conditions.

The next thing I would check would be soil pH. I don't believe that nutrient issues would cause problems like that, unless possibly a micro-nutrient issue.

If this plant has been grown from seed, then it is probably a genetic mutation. I had a seed plant that grew really weird - not at all like its siblings. I took clones and the clones grew out normally, but after two clonings the plant became an auto flowerer and I could not get it to stop auto flowering.

This particular Fem was grown from seed and when I vegged it the plant seemed to look normal(from what I can remember). My lights are 12-12 and get the exact same feeding solution the others do and they are fine. My room is in my basement and when it's dark-it's really dark with no light getting through anywhere. I'm running DWC and I check Ph 3 times a day and keep it a strict 5.8. Maybe it is genetic. I'll harvest her anyway, who knows? Whats your take on the leaves getting yellow and dry(not dead) only at bud sites? Ever seen anything like that? I raised my light up thinking it may be getting burned but the others aren't affected.
