What Is Cannabis?

Recommended Posts

I felt like maybe this was worthy of its own topic for discussion.

what do we do with our cannabis materials?

from root balls to leaf trim to stalks...

(copy from other post) :fpc:

this is a question I have asked myself for the past week or so... ever since the COA decision defining cannabis as either:

- a plant

or

- dry usable parts of the flower or leaf.

there really is no half ground anymore.. I took MK's advice and will hang the plant whole until dry and ready to final trim now (and continue to count it as a plant) until I process it into usable material.

the question I had was what about all the trim?

I used to make awesome butter with it but now I have to weigh it as I go and count it toward my usable amount limits...

so if I cant use it..

and don't have a patient ready or able to use it...

then I have to destroy it right?  putting it into a trash can isn't enough?

putting it into a compost pile isn't enough?

it is still cannabis by definition and must be accounted for somehow.

so... I reinstituted a burn barrel and decided to destroy my scraps instantly by fire..

the question becomes.. is that even ultimately legal?

am I releasing it as vapor into the air and causing some kind of law issue?

and what about the leftover ash?

am I nitpicking? I am not trying to be difficult or anal it's just it seems like these LEO seem to grab onto anything cannabis and attempt a venue of cash flow for themselves..

I don't want to give them ANY I say again ANYTHING to use against me ever.

I do not want to feel the same way if they come here for any reason.. I would much rather we as a community prepare ourselves and hand the court system their hat instead.

it is good we discuss all these situations and help everyone gain knowledge.. I would not have considered the root ball outside an issue until I watched this.. in retrospect I have also seen the root ball continue to grow outdoors and had to bust some with a shovel while they were supposed to be composting they decided to live instead.. it is a very resilient plant and has a huge desire to live and thrive.

Yeah you can forget about handing them their hat untill the fed law changes

and the fknrepublicans are handed their hats.

As long as there are 800 lb monkeys going apeshit with illegal schemes, we honest patients will suffer.

Leo don't care bout your trim......it is the black market behind the disp / fm / provision center...etc. ....that gets Leo

salivating.

Don't overgrow...no overages....unless you need trouble

Compost.....food for the future

ever since the COA decision defining cannabis as either

Slow down there hoss. The COA was talking about medibles. They said they can't tell how much cannabis is in them so they said they are illegal because the law wanted you to have 2.5 and no more than that.  Your unusable garbage is still unusable garbage. Just compost it. And I don't mean compost it while the cops are on the porch. Just toss it in a pile that is secure from the neighbor kids. Make sure you separate the roots off the plants or it will grow.  You could also run it down the garbage disposal. Stems are nothing more than tree branches when you have them stripped down good. Hide your medibles and concentrates then relax.

I remember before our law if you got caught with hash or hash oil they upped the punishment, they called it like special circumstances or something like that, and you got charged more than you would have with just a small bag of smoke, (something on the line of special circumstances) im sure cav can answer that one, its kinda like getting a simple possesion for your 2nd time, it becomes a fellony!

Yea and as far as people getting popped, Im willing to bet the farm something else brought leo to them, besides a legal grow within their weight and numbers!  Im positive,

The last time I got put in Jail, I was the only one in there that was guilty, everyone else was inocent or it was some one elses fault, I used to just laugh and say well at least I did what im in jail for! :yahoo-wave:

Peace

Jim

my fear... or rather my cause for concerns is that in that video the respondent proclaims that LEO pulled everything they could find..

I try to be under the radar but as many of you know I am and do put myself out there.. many people know who I am and it makes me slightly more aware of my circumstances and I try that much harder to remain "compliant"

the COA defined medibles sure... but in reading the decision they make it clear cannabis can only be "dried flowers and leaves" or it can be a "plant"

nothing in between....

my fear is what if they show up on the day I dumped a fresh load of scrap into my pile and I didn't grid I up?

even ground up it is still cannabis as the COA said... it goes beyond just medibles... it is any mixture.. so

is soil a mixture or preparation thereof?   while composting?

where does It fall?

stupid right?

or is it....

Denature your trim by soaking and washing it in a solvent.

seperate and boil off the solvent in a dish, and destroy what's left by zapping it with a vaporizer.   :butt2:  :bong2:

problem solved  :skydive:

i feel like unregulated "chemical washing" is precisely the activities they are trying to put an end to..

No, it doesn't go beyond medibles or concentrates at all. Don't take this wrong but try to keep it simple and you will go far .....  And quit listening to people who get way too carried away with the COA.

Basically, they were taking away an avenue for people to sell their extra. Mind blowing when you boil it down like that. Was anyone really surprised? Really?

i am not surprised at all about this..

it sucks this COA decision came out the same week the DEA busts 22 houses and one blows up from butane extraction the day before..

buttheads

No problem. If Earl would have had only a few cookies we wouldn't even be talking about it now. He went all commercial on it and this is what we get.

right.. i agree

keep a serving or two on hand and not a commercial amount and things would have been different  starting all the way at the point of arrest for the COA case..

It's all section 8. Where we will all likely end up as growers precisely because, as you said, LEO will pull and count everything they can.

Section 4 means very little to me anymore, although it's still somewhat functional. I've long thought Section 8 is where I would be forced to go if anything serious happened.

Knowing your rights regarding search and seizure is paramount to staying out of jail. No warrant, no entry. Period. And STFU and don't answer any questions without your attorney present.

That's my perspective, right or wrong, it's served me well thus far.

understood dan.

however

i have personally seen section 4 (my card) work.

so i still believe in having my card.  and not give LEO any reason to be hauled in for a section 8 hearing.

if you end up in court.. your proving you were section 4 compliant or your arguing section 8... if the latter your in for a long fight.

if you were section 4 compliant you have the best chance of dismissal on every level.

from Law enforcement

to the prosecutor

to the jury.

so if i want to be section 4 compliant and remove any scrap from my dwelling...

what would we all agree is the best way?

so far i hear several votes for just compost it and trust section 8...

and one vote for chemical removal :)

i am for burning it...

anyone else have any relevant suggestions?

From the beginning, many have assumed that section 8 meant you could make a case that you needed a ton so a judge would let you have a ton.

The reality of it is that section 8 will have the same restrictions as section 4 but you will have to prove your eligibility in front of a judge.

Why? Because the people in control want it that way. Close enough with the way our law is written.

If you want to stay under a sec 4 I guess you should have a bomb fire at least once a week so people are used to it around you, and before your ready to put it out for the nite, when no one is around burn it and get rid of it, if you donate it to some one you have to worry about getting caught, IF YOU WANT THINGS DONE RIGHT DO IT YOUR SELF!, burn it make sure it all burns up and go about your sec 4 biz!

Peace

Jim

p.s Im not saying I like the idiotic coa ruling, but we can still work with in the system and rules, till they change em again!
