So I Need 2 Doctors Now?

Recommended Posts

The bottom line is that a patient is entitled to his/her medical records subject to a reasonable copying fee. No reason need be given to the doctor / hospital - the fact that one needs it for marijuana certification is totally irrelevant. One is even entitled to records regardless of any outstanding billing issues. If one meets with resistance in obtaining records, the medical office should be told that a HIPAA Privacy Rule Complaint will be pursued. And then if necessary one should contact the HHS Office for Civil Rights.

In addition, HIPAA covered entities must retain documentation for at least six years.

Good Afternoon, Everyone.

I need a new physician in a bad way! I don't know where to turn anymore. I have been turned away by every one I have gone to..... either because I am Disabled/having Medicare w/Full Medicaid Backup for Insurance....or....because I was on Immediate Release Morphine for the pain I suffer from for nearly 7years. I have some serious issues... too many to list. I have a Urologist and an Oncologist, I just need a family physician for the maintenance prescriptions I am required to take i.e. Hormones, Heart, Anxiety etc. I am experiencing some new issues that concern me. But it seems that now they won't take me if I have an MMC. My current NP in Baldwin (I live in Manton), neglected to write the Morphine prescription for two weeks. This threw me into a severe withdrawal. I have been terribly ill.

I got my MMC in the hopes to get off of the chemical narcotics in the first place, so suffer I will.

If anyone knows of a Doctor anywhere in N. Michigan (hopefully within a 100 mile radius) that takes my insurance and allows me to use my MMC, please send me the information?

Thank you for your time.

Most of my patients have not had problems with their current doctors because they have a mj card. Now, this is only for one reason, it is because their doctors do not know about it.

I guess with some situations urine testing is being done and that is how the doctors are becoming aware of the patients mj use? Is that the case for you?

If that is not the case, then that is good.

Just go to a mmj clinic. I wouldn't advertise to anyone that I have a mj card. I would only pull that card as a last resort. As far as I am concerned, in most cases, the mj card will be used against you. At least LEO sure can.

Some of my patients that received strong pain killers like morphine were not prescribed those meds by their family doctor. Usually when it is an ongoing debilitating condition, you see a specialist for that. Luckily I am not having any problems with the patients I have, a couple of them are prescribed pain meds.

The only time I did run into a problem, like you have mentioned, is when I had a patient that was younger than the others. He was in his early 40's. They gave him all kinds of problems with being able to get meds and being able to use mj. Not sure if he was able to get that resolved.

The best way to use marijuana IMO to help counteract withdraw due to psycho doctors (withdraw can kill people and that is murder in my book) is with RSO. It is so potent and you can get so high you are almost afraid to take any pain meds because that will make you feel even more stoned.

Sorry I am not able to recommend a doctor.

I hope you can solve your problem.
