What is the blue "Like This" button?

 

Is it necessary?

 

Didn't we have issues some years ago with the 'rep' system and decided to do away with it.

 

Is this similar ?

I like it just fine.

I like it it gives validation to posts and shows people that others are interested in their point of view I know its just an ego thing but we need all the help we can get to get traffic flowing again.

it was my idea to put it up..i asked and they magically appeared

 

the mods and admin don't have a "like button" on our posts...so therefore we just have to assume everyone likes them

It could also offend people,looks like you put yourselves above the "unwashed masses". Censorship is socialism. Toss out the people you don't like just to make yourself look all honest and no dirty hands. You don't care if members  like it or not. Pretty rude treatment of others and gains no respect for you or the other people that use it to tear into anybody you want to. People come here for help and you all just scare them away. Kinda hypocritical,don't you think? Toss me again and you can send my check back.

He is just as obnoxious as you think I am...he DOESN'T LIE. I like the likes, sometimes folks may be too shy to speak up, and the vote serves well for them. votes can be removed too for mind changes.

I guess I don't know what you're talking about.  Some/many of us embrace the negativity of our reality along with the positive we try to push forward, but it seems you have some other axe to grind as you're always PO'ed.  ................A couple of positive posts would go a long way......  something to think about.

we didn't have the option for the "like button" for our posts.. which to be truthful irritated me..particularly since it was me who brought it up...

 

i wanted to know if others read and agreed or liked my posts...

 

my thoughts have always been if you don't like them then don't read them.. but sometimes its nice to see people like others thoughts...

 

its not a measurement in any way shape or form... its feedback.

 

we are most defiantly not above the unwashed masses and in fact we spend a lot of time right here and in the trenches trying to help people understand the best ways to be safe and protect themselves...

 

i know you feel slighted but we only censor out the personal attacks...

 

and trust me.. many of them still find there way through.... but we do the best we can as a group of volunteers who work endlessly and tirelessly to help people.

 

i for one am tired of people accusing us of scaring new folks away... i do my solute best to try to make everyone feel welcome.

This perspective I understand well.  I lurked here for nearly 10 months b4 getting up the nerve to register & post.

I am still shy @ times believe it or not

I made a lot of blunders along the way and still often do. I do thoroughly enjoy reading others ideas and opinions

even if I differ from them.  Being active on the boards has helped me become more active in the community as

a whole.  I am glad I found the 3MA, even with the troubles and strifes we have encountered along the way.

I still feel we are a power house of information here and a leader in Mich Med mj forums.
