Mj And Hep-C

Recommended Posts

Marijuana is indispensable for treating patients with Hep-C. Almost all patient experience weight loss with the virus, its is vital not only in maintaing weight and building up your immune system, but helping with side effects of standard medical treatment.

I had to go through treatment twice, I could not have completed treatment without it, and I give some major credit to my MJ supplemental use in having SVR.

Cool! because I have already lost 12lb. where can I get medical marijuana?

You can grow your own

You can find a cg that can meet your needs

Or you could find a Dispencery if you have any by you but keep in mind prices are crazy high 55 a 8th is the best price I could find for quality meds.

A cg is the way to go if you cant grow or on a fixed income they have better prices then any dispensary.

Any idea what type Hep-C you have ? In America type 1 is  prevalent .  In Europe it is type 2. There are a few different treatment types available. As well as some new 'drug trials' *  that are currently in progress.  If somehow your Doc could help you get into one of these*, it would be idealic for you. Yes it is a lot of money. Welcome to American Style Health Care.  You could also come over, bring all your Medical documentation that is available, Doctors names, etc  get your residency in state first then see a Doc get your Cannabis recommendation, then the  Med Cannabis Card. Then you want to get another specialist for your HepC,  as sometimes the Doctors have political issues that prevent them from being impartial with the Cannabis.  You might even consider getting Medical Insurance here at some point.

I have hepatitis C, 1b genotype. I have a doctor in Ukraine. We have made all the analysis to found out what kind of hepatitis I have and what is the level of virus in my blood and degree of liver damage. there is one problem all the documentation is on Ukrainian language. Can you please tell me a bit more about that : "get your residency in state first then see a Doc get your Cannabis recommendation, then the  Med Cannabis Card. Then you want to get another specialist for your HepC,  as sometimes the Doctors have political issues that prevent them from being impartial with the Cannabis.  You might even consider getting Medical Insurance here at some point", while I  am in the USA I live in Delaware! Also - what is American Style Health Care? some kind of state program for people with different infections or what?

You live in Delaware? It appears Delaware does have a Medical Cannabis Law, are you familiar with it ? Here in Michigan I think residency means 6 months in State. I think a drivers license is required, though not 100% sure on that. Dont know what to say about the Language issue, ask the Doctor, maybe a translater? They would help to establish your medical condition. Hep_C is a qualifying condition in Michigan. Don't know if citizenship would be required, have to check on that. American Style Health Care meant that if you do not have medical insurance, it can be extremley costly. This is all about to change as the Affordable Care Act kicks in Jan 2014.

Viral load is how much HCV is in your blood, after my treatment in 2000 was unsuccessful, (it returned after three months) I restricted my diet and avoided fried foods and anything that would impact liver function. I stayed around 2 million parts per mil for two years, then my viral load began to increase. So, it is possible to prolong the advance of the disease somewhat with diet. The new treatment with very little side effects is very expensive @ $1000 per pill.

Total for my 12 week treatment was $85,000, luckily I am a veteran and had insurance. At this price the cost of treatment is far beyond what most of us can afford. There is some morality questions here that need to be explored.
