Cervantes Says The Best Way To Up Your Grow Game Is To Walk Many Grow Rooms.

yest my guide (in Macomb) showed his veg room.  his trays of cuts were date-labeled, with none older than 7 days.  why?  his reason was he gets roots in 6-7 days to the point of transplanting. now me, whenever I use root riots, i gets roots in 36 days or less, and that's on the 10% still standing.  i've figured that's cause i take cuts from plants in mid-flower.  he had me pick up a tray, and when i did water sluiced out from under the shallow lid and hit the floor.  i saw no heat mat, no high domes.  a digital therm on the wall read 75 f.

"there's your prob," he said.  "you gotta treat a tray as a rez, and make the cubes soaked sponges."

turned out he had 1/4 inch of water in the bottom.  he said he never mists.  there wasn't a spray bottle around. (but there was a bong 2' tall).

his family's owned grow stores since he was 5 (not in mi), and he grew up watching mnfr's product videos.  i didn't have that high-grade of an upbringing, and guess I'll try what he does?  but i still prefer to see a strain in flower bef making copies.

Cuttings in flower?  Wow, I always take mine at least 2 weeks before they go into flower.  With no mom's I want to make sure I won't loose it.  I took one cutting about a week and a half into flower and dropped it after 2 weeks with no roots.  I'm used to roots out of the cubes in under 10 days.  6-8 usually. I soak the cubes, use powdered rootone and slip em into a cube or 2"x2"x2" pot o' soil and put them into an insect cup so that no fungus gnats get in.  There is less than a 1/4 in. water in there for the first 24 to prevent wilting but it dries up and it's about 50% humidity from there on.  I only add water if they dry out, usu once or 2x in a week to 10days.

With cutting in flowering you should have no problems if you go to veg.  That's like jogging with weights on.

there is no issues at all taking cuttings in flower, even the day of flower. Temperature, light schedule, humidity, air quality, water quality are suspect.

I take mine  a week before moving tho the flower room, for scheduling sake. This gives ample opportunity to convince me

of the health of my new clones, and to cull the non convincing ones. I have no sympathy for a sick plant in the garden, off to my bunnies!

The roots should appear within 10 days in your veg room as the "hairs" shrivel and die away.

Many growers re veg their harvested plant. I found it easier to do in hydro than in dirt. seems

there are creatures lurking on the wait for any interruption in growth. Many root formations will die off

for lack of phtoynthesis, but the few lower newest branches left on will develop roots. the decay of the

dying roots attracts some harmful (to new roots)pests.

Never really had problems with revegging in soil.  Don't think I've had many roots die, you just can't overwater since the root system is massive compared to what's left up top to vent off water.  I've had them go back into flower in about 3-5 weeks and perform very well.  My QE right now is a prime example.  Down the first week of Jan  and back in flowering the first week of Feb. and I was able to get 2 cuttings after 2.5 weeks back in veg.

Some strains are easier to reveg just as some are easier to do cuttings as some are impossible or near for both such as autoflowers.

That's basically what I do. I like to make sure they have good roots before I put the mother into flower. Better safe than sorry.
