Hydroponic Nutrient Research

HEYO.

I've been researching hydroponic nutrients online in an attempt to understand the market.

Mods, keep in mind, I'm not even going to link to any of my products, tell you where to get them, and they don't exist.

I just think the research itself is very interesting, which is why I bring it up! Plus I don't have anyone to talk to about things like this, except ya'll.

Without further ado

One thing I immediately found interesting is the most popular brand (on the internet) - Advanced Nutrients. They do this in two different ways - one: highly popular base products and two: popular and HUGELY numerous additives. Basically, they've taken basic plant nutriention - added in a bit of magic - split up that nutrition across many, many bottles that - from a chemical standpoint - could be added together just fine - marketed it and sold it to consumers in huge numbers. None of this is controversial, nothing of what I'm saying should be considered "AN Hate". This is just facts.

Competition (and thus advertising costs) are considered to be "high" across the board. This is an unsurprising revelation - if you ever felt in your gut you were paying a lot for marketing/advertising when you go out and purchase your stuff - you are absolutely right. What fuels this high advertising costs you say (the largest being $3.44 PER CLICK!!! on a specific product)? Well - naturally, extreme profit margins on the products themselves.

Capitalism working properly, or run amok? More on all this later, provided I don't get immediately censored!
