Wtf Tim Beck?

Recommended Posts

Hero? I'd wouldn't go that far. These initiatives are symbolic and rarely even protect against a possession charge, and are not helpful at all for a person wishing to grow their own. But they are great for what they are.

Motive then? The last time Tim made the news he was for advocating for adding laws that kick out tenants with specific marijuana wording that underlines how bad marijuana growers are. Seems like he rope-a-dopes with frivolous BS, then sticks a knife in when he wants to do something that actually does something. He has done a lot more real work for landlords than for us cannabis users when you look to what matters.

I want to give a shout out to all the people who were out there pounding the pavement in the various areas collecting signatures.

Not an easy feat when many have health issues.

Whether in agreement or not with the initiatives... these people are the ones with their feet on the ground making it happen.

Kudos.

Kudos. You have to wonder if any of these volunteers happen to be the same folks hurt by the landlord law, trying to make it though the legislature, tacked onto a bill that seems to help cannabis people.

Quite possibly Resto.

Prop. 1 2008 could not have happened w/ out the foot soldiers.

We are still hashing that one out 5+ years later.

Nothing is perfect.

Like zap said, these are 'symbolic'.

I feel that each time we push, it helps in perpetuating the 'cannabis

conversation' within the general public.

Cannabis being in the news all the time and being brought forth

in a positve fashion with facts... not fallacies, has started to

change my 80 yr old dads attitude towards the 'evil weed'.

My friends 90 yr old dad is all in for it now and wants to use

it for his PTSD.  Hopefully FL will make that legal for him

& others who chose cannabis as medicine, very soon.

We are educating/ changing minds.

hopefully all of these that are on the ballot go undefeated.

while these are symbolic, they REALLY take the wind out of the politicians who say

'oh its just you stoners want to get high' or

'the people were tricked into voting in 2008' or

'people thought they were voting for medical in 2008' or

'its all george soros fault, he tricked people into voting for marijuana'

i mean, thats some of the idiotic arguments that are destroyed by these votes.

and it brings in new arguments like

'why are you ignoring the will of the voters'

'why are you so out of touch with the voters'

'why are you supporting a racist system when the voters have said to stop this, time and time again'

They may be symbolic in how they help now but if they all pass 60-70% shouldn't that send a message to the politicians?  When's the last time one of them won an election with that big a percentage when they were actually running against someone?

tim beck spreads the envelope far more than anyone i know.

as for his landlord iinitiative, king david wrote the psalms and mudered and adulterated.  heros have faults and tim is not an exception.
