Overcoming Disposition

Alright, has anyone had any success in convincing people that marijuana is not "evil"? My girlfriend of three years has a father and grandparents that not only hate marijuana but outright fear it. My views on legalization was something I kept to myself until I had to finally admit to myself that actual change for the best will never be a possibility until people no longer fear what others will think of them and speak up for what is right. So I started being more vocal when discussion came up about it and even shared a few posts in my news feed on Facebook. Now they seem to not even acknowledge that I exist.

It is not only sad but terrifying that there are so many people out there that not only can't see the massive difference between marijuana and meth but refuse to. They are under a delusion that the prohibition laws are "protecting" them from drugs (marijuana unfortunatly is roped into the drug catagory) and keeping society "safe" and "moral".  In actuality the drug cartels are the modern day Al Capones who absolutely adore people like that. If it were not for people who were afraid of marijuana they would be out of the job since it will no longer would be in the black market.

Anyways, I am sure that I and many of you here have came into contact with people who once discovered your views or use of marijuana immediately saw you as a degenerate drug addict and nefarious. They write you off as a deviant and judge you and as they point with one hand they grip a bottle in the other. How do you approach people like that and change their mind? Especially when they are not even willing to listen?

We have all been through this. I still avoid talking to most people about pot. If I am ever outed, my plan is fall to my knees in front of them and grovel while I beg for their forgiveness. I will explain that I am hopelessly addicted to the substance and hope that they can find it in their hearts to forgive me. This will undoubtedly be the beginning of an interesting conversation.

Or, I might just tell them to pisss off depending on the mood I am in.

i will talk to anyone who will listen.. and some who don't :)

often times i have had awesome outcomes..

still makes me giggle when i am waiting in line at a store and i hear people discussing cannabis around me.. i can't help usually but toss my .02 round

people want to hear about cannabis and how it is ok.

many people are and will probably remain afraid of cannabis and cannot be helped..

do your best to understand how it helps you personally and then be able to vocalize and articulate that message effectively and you will change minds... maybe not all of them.... but the ones who are worth saving can be convinced...

remember it is nearly impossible to overdose as a result of using to much cannabis.  we will not hurt ourselves or our neighbors.

whats wrong with a little euphoria?

C'mon your supposed to be Happy?

And yes I am happy when I am in a euphoric state.

What happened to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness?

Isn't that what we are supposed to do?

There are many ways to approach the Cannabis conversation.

Some people cannot change their minds about the devils weed.

Which by the way, according to the book of Genesis God made Every Herb which bares seed for Our Use...

There's your Christian argument. Also Isreal loves MMJ and Isreal is Gods Chosen ones.

Their gov is waist deep in medical marijuana. Check it out.

Another angle is the Safer approach( I believe there is a safer website). That is a great argument if discussed properly.

Also there is great news coming out of Colorado about crime and accident rates dropping big time after legalization.

Many ways to tackle fears with the truth.

Kindness understanding and respect iare vital!!! Whether reciprocated or not !!!

You Must be the example!!!

After all that some people will still refuse it.

That's just how it is.

Good luck and Jah Bless.
