Tonight- Legal issues for patients (and their caregivers) getting doctor recommendations at hotels, expos, and trade shows, continue. Even after warnings and expert advice from amongst the most credible legal analysts on the issue in the state, some event coordinators refuse to stop the practice. Making matters worse, some of the doctors writing these recommendations at the hotel conferences and other non- traditional forums, will not offer adequate support in court for their patients, when in need.

The crackdown on dispensaries and patient rights in Cadillac, MI, has sparked a protest, held today, in front of one of the shuttered businesses.

Marc Emery, the Prince of Pot, long time POW in US prison, finally is released and back in his home country of Canada- Michigan activists, along with other supporters and family members, recently helped him to celebrate in Windsor, Ontario.

The City leaders of Montrose will discuss the city's position tonight, in joining several other municipalities whose citizens have gathered enough signatures with which to place a question before voters, in the upcoming November elections, whether to allow adults to use, possess and transfer small amounts of cannabis, on private property.

Many local dispensaries submitted winning entries in High Times Medical Cannabis Cup, held in Clio, MI- earlier this month.

Checking in and joining us tonight, will be-

Owner operator of ArborSide, a dispensary in Ann Arbor, MI, Rhory Gould.

Activist Ci Ci Taylor, and member of the Michigan Human Solution chapter.

Cary Justice, long time activist, former candidate for State House Representative.

Weed warrior and staff member of City Councilman Cushingberry, Richard Clemente Sr.

And- Bruce Leach, criminal defense attorney specializing in medical marijuana issues and who served as legal counsel for the recent High Times event in Clio.

The Cup was great and I am definitely looking forward to it next year.

I primarily worked at the ASA booth in the non profit area and participated in and attended the many discussion panels available to attendees. I moderated the medical marijuana panel which included Rick Thompson, Dr Dave Peters, Robin Schneider, Eric Gunnels and Michael Komorn- The room was packed and panel members stayed well after it ended to continue to personally answer questions and discuss issues with the many audience members who stuck around to learn more.

The medicating area was a different universe altogether- I did not extensively hang out there, but it was a unique experience. The vendors were from all over and had very creative and extensive displays. They also provided many things for free.

Although, I couldn't make the Wyclef Jean show, once again, the world class event provided world class entertainment. In 2011, I did get to attend the George Clinton performance.

Although the admission was fair for the Cup, a lot of people in the area volunteered to help at the event, in some capacity, and got admission taken care of, in exchange.

I know that those in attendance and the organizers from High Times were pleased with how it all went- and will be back. When it does- it is definitely worth checking out.

We met some people from Ohio who had travelled here, driving from Cincinnati. Because they were not Michigan residents, and considering that Ohio is not a state that has a medical law that requires that Michigan recognize their status, access to the cool stuff was not available to them. They are high powered expert growers. One was especially interested in glassware. The promoters did not disclose that would be the case. They should either open more stuff up to non-patients or be clear about those limitations. The gate argued with them, but did finally agree to refund their admission.
