Ok I'm comfortable with the growing aspect now but still learning about environmental.

Ive only done one small room, so dont know the details of a larger one besides the basics ive read online. Not sure if its even option for me but just in case it is Id like to know everything before hand.

Lets say two flower rooms back to back. Anywhere from 10×10 to 12×12 give or take. Then smaller veg room on side..10x10.

Ive read about vertical lighting, 600watters , etc ..as best options. But considering what Id be able to get(used...quarter of the typical total cost).. lets say each flower room is setup with 6- 1000 watts. Veg room the same. Again I know about efficiency on 600 watters, etc but if I did have a chance to find a place with large scale down the road Id be able to get all the equip very cheap. Talking ballasts(digital)and hoods. 1000 watt ballasts only of course.

So thats 18,000 watts for 3 rooms all near the same size. Read 4,000 BTUs of Ac for each 1k watt to be safe. Lets say 24,000 for each. Well during my research i found - 24000 ductless minisplit units that can be done on own. Theres also the 14,000 portable ACs( I see they make em much better now). Prob dumb question but better to go with the minisplit, yeah? Am I right in thinking it would take 1 a room or maybe get away with 2(and some venting) total ? What Im getting at is figuring out most cost efficient and allowing most control.

Also, how would that factor in to deciding whether closed environment or open? Again I know most basics on everything so dont need to waste your time with all of that, just looking for some opinions on the detailed.

Has anyone done/read about using more cfms for hood cooling to help with how much AC use. 250cfm for every 1k would make 1500 cfms in a room. If running a fan thru each 2 hoods with a 745cfm..that would be an extra 200 cfms for each set..around 600 for the room. How much of a difference would that make? Overkill?

And lets say since 3 rooms next to eachother , options r limited with venting out/in from outside rooms. So would have to be mostly outside. What route would you go with? Closed environmemt, recirculating air between rooms( hood cooling connected to outside) or standard open environment and just get the necessary equip to be in optimal conditions?

Just in my little room ive had ridiculous temp spikes so I know how important it is to be in control.

Theres more Id like to figure out but already a novel so this is a start.

Glad I found this place, these types of questions being much more suited for people living in same type of conditions

people will post with answers for you, but your rooms seem very large for just you being a patient. dont really need 18000 watts just for 12 plants...

just want to make sure you know what you're getting into with that kind of larger setup.

(sorry if i sound real dumb, the meds are just kicking in and i dont even remember what i was trying to say)

Im a caregiver for myself...but most ive done at once is 6 plants.

This is all hypothetical as I said if it does become an option down the road. I just want to make sure I know these things in detail before hand and be able to refer to this thread. May never happen.

In the hospital right now so ton of down time and thanks to technology I can actually stay sane during these long hospital stays. no need to get into it too much but had a traumatic brain injury years ago(learn to talk and function again in brain rehab) and nerve damage .... and the options back then when sick of flipping thru tv channels with that annoying corded 1980s remote were playing games like tetris and solitaire. A real hoot. Nothing like a game of solitaire to make you forget how much fun life used to be lol. So for me, smart phones/tablets are the greatest invention ever. Can actually distract myself and learn a thing or two.

Lol anyways, ive been my own caregiver for 3 years. I was still pretty deep into brain injury and cant tell you how much it helped. I made a lot of mistakes, but the process of going thru it and correcting, seeing the results etc...was great. Having a purpose. Not to mention being able to get off the cocktail of drugs(10 diff meds a day...you name it..) to just canna alone. Never was a smoker, and still amazed it allowed that to happen.

Back on topic, I have researched larger grow areas but wanted answers directly related to what my limitations would be. Not sure if stuff like that is talked about on here, since of course its all about staying within the law. If this option was to become available itd certainly be legal so I have no problem talking about it. And After seeing what cannabis has done for me when wasnt a believer(also more conservative) I'm very interested in helping others like myself. Ive met plenty people in brain rehab stays or hospital who also were put on a cocktail of meds when doctors cant figure out whats wrong with them. Desperate for help but just makes things worse. And lose more and more hope over time. And Ive lost touch with a lot of them , concentrating on my own issues but I think itd be great to help if given the opportunity. And I just watched the movie Dallas Buyers Club , which made realize how selfish ive been..ha.

Arright rambling now but just wanted to explain situation since its still an amazing discovery for me and hoping to get some feedback. Even if most on here havent done anything like that Im sure theres some who'd still know how. And again I know basics, what it would take to do it all to where it would be good enough but I want opinions on the best way.

From what Ive seen on here in only few days of joining, rather create this thread here than grasscity. Quality responses over quanity.

Haha..yeah figured by writing 10 paragraph posts it would either cause some confusion for the indica readers or a quick exit by them not in the mood for a bedtime story .

I feel your pain. In my last extended hospital stay I had to watch American Pickers marathons and wasn't even able to pick up the remote to change channels. :(

My suggestion would be to decide how much weight you want to end up with and work backward from there. Estimate how many .oz's per plant then decide how many plants you'll need, how much square feet per plant and how much light per square foot.

one patient  can get by on 2  600w  in flower and one 400w in veg. one 40 w flo for the clones ,

This pt/c.g to one pt can get by with 1 600 w in flower and one four bulb t-5 and one 2 bulb t-5 with no problem, I can also just use 600 mh in veg and 600w hps in budd, and only use the t-5's for clones!  I actualy like using the t-5's in veg and 600w hps in budd, I have a 4x4x6 ft budd tent, a 2x4x4 veg tent, No probs other than the bug or 2!

Peace
