Semantic Priming

Recommended Posts

I found this to be an interesting article.  It talks about making mental connections.  Creative thinking involves making 'new' associations and cannabis seems to aid people in making novel connections.  On the downside, these associations can be problematic for schizophrenics.  (This was discussed on Planet GreenTrees last evening)

Cannabis and the Brain

From the article

Taken together, these studies demonstrate that popular stereotypes of marijuana users are unfair and untrue. While it’s definitely not a good idea to perform a cognitively demanding task (such as driving!) while stoned, smoking a joint probably also won’t lead to any measurable long-term deficits.

Furthermore, there’s some intriguing evidence that marijuana can actually improve performance on some mental tests. A recent  http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20122742  by scientists at University College, London looked at a phenomenon called semantic priming.

Certain cannabinoids help break up the plaque that forms between the neurotransmitters of the brain of ALZ pts. Now I have a neuro Dr. I showed him the research. He laughed at me. I won't go back because of that. I should have kicked him in the nads to show him how I can go into an insane rage in seconds...............................I just took the old peoples bus back home. So the number one disease that MMJ can treat according to the State is dismissed by the medical community. I am limited by bammycare and BCNet on what Drs I can see. He is a creep I have known for years, his office and pts all smell like hummus and wear burkas. It's true.
