The Perfect Cup Of Tea

7-12 Grams of cleaned dry cannabis(any flavor)

Donaldson's English Breakfast Tea(or your favorite)

sugar to taste

1/4-1/2 cup whole cream

 

Add enough loose tea to the basket in a percolator coffee pot, usually 12 servings

Sweeten to taste now or later

Add cannabis to basket

Add cream to pot,

Fill pot to line and brew

I don't enjoy edibles, except for this one. not sure why. I can drink this mix all day with no ill effects. wont get much done though, and today is a great example !

I also have a tea recipe but the mj is decarboxed first. You can also boil big stems and make tea from it. No plant matter should go to waste.

Decarboxylation is accomplished when the mj is dried, (after losing 75% of its (water) weight). Once the 212f water hits it in the percolator.......decarb is finished. I don't use freshly harvested mj for anything until it's dried and decarb'd. The effect of fresh cannabis smoked or eaten by me is nauseating.

hot cocoa, warm milk, coffee all work out well also. Xacolatl is a perfect carrier, and Bhang of course, all easy to make, and fun to drink

Does it have to be a percolator? My drip coffee maker produces 200+ degree  water before it goes through the grounds...It just goes through once instead of percolating...HJ

The percolator is a sohxlet extraction unit. During each cycle, a portion of the targeted compound dissolves in the solvent. After many cycles the desired compound is concentrated in the distillation flask(perc pot).

Using a drip system will extract some of the oils but I'm afraid one pass is not enough. I don't think +/- temps would matter much especially if the material is dry to begin with. I'm guessing the result would not be the best it could be, but try it, wth right?

I use my vaped mm to make a treat that realy works well also, save your vaped mm if you  are truly vaping and not burning it, and depending on the amount you have, mix it in peanut butter, spread peanut butter laced with mm on to a grahm cracker, put a piece of chocolat on it, and place another grahm cracker on top, wrap in aluminum foil, put in oven at 175 for 15 to 20 minutes, and enjoy your taisty treat that  gives you great releif from your ailment and also makes you smile, like brownies if it dont work right away DONT eat more, it will hit you lol!

 

I always make my cannabutter strong, and tinctures and anything medible strong, I figure I can just use less if need be, I would rather have it to strong than to weak lol!  it is called self control, which I think I may have figured out by now, but doubt it lmao!

ok, duff, my new word, does it apply to roaches or just vaporized cannabis? I admit to smoking it after a vape session and discarding the idea quickly. If all the bene terpenes are vaporized what remains?

in my tools of the trade thread I mention doing this with cream in a pot, then cooling it, filling the whipp can, sugaring it, flavor if wanted(cacao,koolaid, etc.., charging it with N02 and enjoying medicated whipped cream with a press of a button. it keeps for weeks in the fridge.

after a quick seep in cream, I've dried the spent mj and extracted from it, and yielded nothing. No oil or hydrosols or even chlorophyll(one could water soak before using mj if chloro is an issue, I didn't)

 

on another note I have used a coffee pot with 199 proof to extract from buds. set up outside on the farm I felt safe enough. It was a very potent concentrate, darker than usual, and dirty. For a concrete though it was better than ANY I've had from a dispensary. It took minutes, smelled good, and all but 1% was recovered. I'll do it again as soon as its legal.

Can you give us an idea of how much vaped bud you use per cracker?

Just vaporized. I'd assume what's left is a low-potency blend of cannabinoids.

I would expect the lighter terpenoids will have been diminished. Those that remain have a different effect, and you will be pleasantly stoned.

kind of  reminds me of pipe scrapings, or rolling cig butts. Sure, they will cause effects, even similar to fresh material, it works, and has for me in the past, but not really. Like if I was without supply I wouldn't hesitate. I smoked the duff yesterday and it sucked, and so did the effect(comparatively, in fairness)....That's the reason I was done with it after vaporizing....because it no longer carried any terpenoid flavors and its effects were on the downside of pleasant(compared to new unheated buds)
 
 Now whats next  is eating the duff. I'll try it I suppose.   I just would rather taste fresh buds in my coffee, tea, burps, or rolling papers than some used up schwaggy ash tray hit. unless I was out of course....that's another story.  I mean I know some people will use their trim for projects, or even to smoke/vape, and so would I, if I didn't have oodles of exotic fresh flowers to devour instead.

I dont know what exactly is left, but I would think the other thc that activates at a higher temp is still in there, all I know Is I save my duff aka vaped mm and make them peanut butter smores with them and they kick me in the but, I vape alone and It takes me days to finish a bowl, so mine prob has more left in it than most folks. all I know is when I have a snack about 2 hrs later im sitting here thinking did I just burn one? lol

 

and yes alot of folks fill capsule with it and it does well, you can try and try to extract it when your done vaping, but its not worth it, eat it lol. 

 

I also used to use to big of extractors for my bho and it never got all out of it, one time I reran butane thru it and got a ton out of it,,,so now I have my little extractors that are percise and gets soaked real well, if there is any dry mj left when you dump your extractor you didnt use enough butane or/and your extractor is to big, I use a few now, one that holds 2 oz's and one that holds one oz, 1 can for the 1 oz and 2 cans for the 2 oz's and nothing is dry when I dump it!

I dont know how much duff I use per cracker but I do make the peanut butter look green lmao, just put more than what you would think the first time, when you feel the effects and taistes than you can make up how much you need, sorry medman, wish I had a real recipe, I think I found that one on here some where a few yrs back,,,,put to much it wont hurt ya honest!

my tami allows me to precisely measure the solvent going in and the solvent going out. Nothing is finished until 100% of the solvent is recovered. A two oz run will use 400 grams of nubutane. The extraction is done in controlled stages at one hundred gram intervals under vacuum . The solvent is in contact with material for only a few minutes at target temperature. A subsequent run produces nothing that is soluble in the solution. For reference the device will extract oil from new, solvent washed steel ball bearings, but only once.  If there is oil in them buds, it finds it and brings it to me....until recently when it heard it can no longer do so, for now. 

 

There is an article on skunkpharmresearch discussing a mystery oil resulting from canned butane. I suspect it is the oil that resides in the steel can itself, and  is extracted as soon as its dispensed...I never worried about the oil much when I used the canned stuff though, like that big puff of smoke that comes from a new screen,,,,I didn't realize it for years, then started to burn it off from a new one before use. I think it made me more handsome in my later years actually, so there.
