When Is Something Going To Be Done About Drs Not Tx.pain Pts. On Mj?

Recommended Posts

Why have the hospitals and the physicians associated with the hospitals (some being made to forcibly restrain from tx. medical mj pts) NOT allowing staff to tx. (even in the ER) those pts. on narcotics whether they have a legal medical mj. card or not? Is this not against the mj law and possibly discriminatory against tx. of the disabled and those in pain or other intractable illnesses for which they have obtained the Michigan Medical Marijuana card? Isn't against medical ethics? When are our esteemed leaders going to take the Medical Board on about this ridiculous withholding of tx to anyone who tests positive for cannibinoids legal or not?

I am absolutely appalled that this has gone on for so long with nothing being done about it and so has everyone I have spoken with whether they engage in med. mj or not and health professionals and pain physicians-professionals of all kinds.\\

So, hypothesis on why this is occurring?

No one seems to know for sure why this is happening.  I think that there is some corporate conspiracy going on though. Apparently the corporations do not feel comfortable letting their doctors discuss, let alone prescribe, medical marijuana - a Schedule One Narcotic (the most ridiculous thing about the whole marijuana debate). I had an interesting confrontation with a physician's assistant last year. She came into the room and asked me what kind of marijuana I was using. I looked at her dumfounded and asked why she asked me such a question. She said that she could "smell" it on me. I told her that I smoke the occasional cigar and this is what she was smelling. She didn't seem to want to let it go, but I just brushed it off as a case of "mistaken odor detection". I will NEVER admit to any doctor that I use medical marijuana and I feel that it is none of their business. Phuck them and their ignorant society.

I have to go to a clinic.I get medical care from 2nd year residents. I have kids older than most of them. One told me they are tested when they start school, but not after that. So it's okay to make the kitchen employees take mandatory drug testing, but not the medical staff? They are also discouraged about MMJ,they are taught nothing about it and certainly would not be allowed to sign for pt. Why are the people with the most control and power able to get away with it? They can kiss my shiny metal azz.

My chart notes say "Medical Marijuana" (nope, not marihuana).

I have found that mj certification doctors really like that.

I have been having a health issue for some time now... tell the

doc the symptoms and that I want a particular test run.  I leave

the office w/ a hand full of scripts, my notes from the visit and

NO referral and NO follow up! WTH???  I call and it is due to

my insurance only allowing that test 1 time a year! dam.

This issue goes much deeper than just not treating due to mj.

The entire health care system is whacked imo.

they always know  :

                                   if you owe them money,

that their vacation is only a few weeks away,

that you appreciate the appointment stacking,

                                   "if your insurance covers it",

that you give them way more healing credits than deserved,

which drug company gives the best "head",

that drug reps are their bread and butter couriers.

as long as you visit them stinking of reefer, you won't have to "tell" them anything. :yahoo-wave:

Yeah, well I didn't go to the Dr's "stinking of reefer". I don't go anywhere "stinking of reefer". My "Medical Marijuana" doctor requested records from this doctor and I believe that the PA I spoke to was aware that the "Medical Marijuana" doctor had requested records. I believe that the PA was fishing and was trying to draw me out and get me to admit that I use marijuana. Like I said before: I don't believe that it is any of their business. I am quite sure that if it could be proven to them that I use, they would likely use it against me someday. I am not going to give them the opportunity.

in good humor, I'm just tugging your chain CG. :P I know you didn't go to a doctor appointment smelling up the joint. YOu did the right thing, admit nothing, especially today. I too dislike the breach that happens when "No Name Marijuana Clinic" requests records from the family physician.

That is why you keep your records upto date at home, I get mine every 6 months and add them to the many many yrs of mecical records, dont sign anything that allows the mm dr. to contact your real dr. one time I asked my dr, to send copy's for me to an mm dr. they said they needed a sig to send them, I said ok can you fax them to me they said yes, I gave them my mm dr.'s fax number lol true story and no one was the wiser!

Peace

This guy is a new one. Every Dr makes you sign a privacy agreement, but I haven't seen HIPPA on ANY of them. Just says who can get my records. The dang Drs can't even get them and all of them work at the hospital right next door! I find the people WORKING for the Drs and the insurance company to be much easier to manipulate than the Drs themselves. It's like I am doing their job and not getting paid! And like CG said,I don't tell ANY of them about my MMJ status. When they can get away with dropping a pt that is a MMJ pt? With no explanation? Like I said it was a Dr that told me that chronic pts are cash cows to Drs. You have to keep going because they know you will never get better. Then just give me my gut RXs and I will be GLAD to be on my way. I ran out of one of my rxs 3 days ago,a diazepam, and that butthole hasn't even called me back or called it in to my pharmacist. So,if I start having seizures,it's her azz, because I will go straight to the ER and squeal on her. I will fight back as long as I can. Drs are like Nazis to me. I hate em. If you go wild on them, they do what you want. God forbid they get SUED. Drs should remember that there are sites where you can look them up,and find out everything about them, including any sanctions against them. And leave COMMENTS on them for other pts to read. Don't they realize that pts feel bad, they have to PAY and that makes them grouchy? I am sick of having to go to second year residents.
