Hard Water Growing

Hi, My well water is approximately 325 PPM and approximately 7.5 PH. I have an RO filter. I was thinking using half and half RO and well water. Others suggested all RO and add CalMag back to it.

 

I do get inconsistencies in growth I believe because of using hard water. Looks like deficiencies like calcium but I know thats not true. I have not dropped the $100 to get it analyzed to see exactly how much of each mineral is in it.  I understand too much Sodium will play tricks on me as well.

 

I am thinking going with a Hard water Nutrient. like Ionic Grow and Bloom for Hard Water. Please give me some ideas. Any Ideas about growing when using hard water are welcome to help others with hard water.

with sf organics, and i believe in the case of some other nutes, the use of ec with an ec meter rather than ppm with a ppm meter, goes around the problem of hard water?

Use all RO water.  End of problem.

With so many variables in the garden it's sometimes hard to pinpoint an exact cause of a situation. For instance my well/spring has been used since 2008 in my garden with zero filtration. I used it the day I received my dnr 10 dollar test with no issues since. RO may be overkill, but might get you closer to your culprit.

hey deadeye,,,have you thought about using rain water....free and easy...plants love it...just adjust the ph..   .bp
