120V To 220V Power

Hi guys I know that 220v uses less amps but I was wondering if it saves on the cost at all. Also how do you switch over?

Same amount of wattage just a much less amperage draw on your breaker panel before my power cords would be warm to the touch not anymore since I switched to 220.

The electrician i recommend to accomplish this switch in the detroit area is Nick Seaver at 313-844-4113.

no savings or difference in electricity used. ballasts, cords like KD says will run a bit cooler. maybe a penny or two ac savings?

how to switch over: you have to have 220 circuits installed in your breaker, and possibly rewire depending how good/bad your wiring is. might also have to swap out the outlets to reflect the change to 220, so you dont accidentally plug in sokmething rated 110

No worry in a mixup happening with the outlets its a way different plug pattern.

my t5's(can operate either 220 or 120 volts ) have a normal looking (120) plug end that fits perfectly into the 220 receptacle on the light controller, receptacle takes both types.
