Marijuana plants were stolen from the home of a medical marijuana caregiver in Redford earlier this week, according to police reports.

The victim, who lives in the 19300 block of Indian, told police he left his home at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 5 and when he returned at about 2:30 a.m. Oct. 6 he noticed the clothes from his bedroom dresser were on the floor in a pile, according to police.

He thought one of his daughters had put the clothes there so he went to bed, reports said.

When he got up the next morning and his daughters arrived, they told him that they had not been at the home that night, reports said.

He then became suspicious that someone may have broken into his home and discovered a kitchen window open and also found a lawn chair outside under the window, reports said.

Money, shoes

He then started checking around and found that cash was missing from under his bedroom mattress and that two pairs of Air Force One Gym shoes were missing from his room, reports said.

About two ounces of marijuana were taken from his living room and four mature marijuana plants had been taken from his grow room in the basement, according to reports. The man is a medical marijuana caregiver and showed police his card, reports said.

His daughters checked their room and found a pair of sunglasses and assorted change missing from their room, reports said.

The victim has security cameras inside and outside of his residence and said he watched the video to find that two intruders had been in the house, according to police reports.

The video showed a man breaking into the house through the kitchen window. The intruder roamed through the house collecting items and putting them in a trash bag and left through the same kitchen window, reports said.

Second visit

Later in the video, two men were seen breaking into the house through the same kitchen window.

One of the intruders appeared to be the man in the first break-in, reports said.

The men were seen walking downstairs to the basement and then they returned carrying large marijuana plants, reports said.

The victim downloaded the video onto a flash drive and gave it to police.

In the basement grow room, police saw several plants and four pots that contained soil and a stump, according to reports.

edit= all of the camera's and no way to be notified?  A very loud siren is the ticket for intruders, it may wake the neighbors but the thieves wont be sticking around!
