Antrim Co. Large Psychedelic Mushroom Operation Busted

ANTRIM CO. -- The Traverse Narcotics Team busted a large psychedelic mushroom growing operation this week.

On October 1, the task force raided a home on Mound St. in Bellaire. They seized a large mushroom operation and arrested a 33-year-old Bellaire man for growing and distributing the drug.

Based on the equipment, it is estimated the growing operation was capable of producing more than $120,000 dollars worth of psychedelic mushrooms.

After further investigation, TNT identified a second location and more suspects. On October 2, they raided two homes on Kellogg Rd. in Kalkaska County.

They seized more mushrooms and a marijuana grow operation. A 32-year-old Alden man was arrested and taken to the Antrim County Jail.

Detectives are continuing their investigation and they expect to find more suspects.

The Traverse Narcotics Team was helped by the Bellaire Police Department, Antrim County Sheriff's Office, Kalkaska County Sheriff's Office and Michigan State Police Houghton Lake Post.

Yay! Glad they busted  psychedelic mushroom  growers, whatever the hell that is! Yeah, I'm 43 and never tried one, I have heard about Magic Mushrooms but never tried those either. Just the word, "psychedelic" is enough to scare me off trying anything crazy like that!

Mushrooms work wonders for break through pain relief.

I would love me some magic mushrooms, see I like that kind of feeling, when I did 3 grms of oil I was most def in the phsychedelic state, it was a good time, I would much rather do that than the old window pane, lsd or mescaline, you can actualy get them here in michigan, like you can in florida under cow paddies, they are good but not as good as the ones in warmer weather!  I used to mow greens and t's on a golf course that was next to a cow farm, I got me a few from there one early morn, they were ok but I would much rather get them from peeps I know in fl, freeze dry them nasty suckers put them in peanut butter and go for it,,,,,,,,I guess I like to disguise things that dont taise good in p.b lol!

I have a hard time with those who persecute humans for cultivating and consuming ANY plant given to our species on this earth. get 'em for tax evasion if ya must, not for growing a plant that others want but cannot grow themselves. Cultivating mycelium for medicinal and spiritual healing is an ancient practice and human rite.
