Law Enforcement Misconceptions

Hey, LEO, we do not smoke leaves. If they are on the floor, or in a waste paper basket, they are garbage.

Stripping the active ingredients from cannabis does not "make the marijuana stronger".

If you find a torch at a blasting site, it was used to heat the dabber, not make the oil.

Sometimes really tall cannabis plants actually produce very small amounts of medicine.

Yes, we have called this our medicine for hundreds of years.

We need you, and think you do a great job largely.

feel free to add to the list. if it enlightens one officer of the law, then change is possible. education leads to success.

Most of us have never had problems with drugs. we have had problems with police.

Hey LEO,

The MMA does not say "Locked" container in the trunk. Patients are instructed by our Act to carry their medicine

in a "Case" in the trunk. Not Locked case. the link is here for all to read. Please read the laws before attempting to

enforce them for best results. http://www.michigan.gov/lara/0,4601,7-154-35299_63294_63303_51869_52138---,00.html

Thank You

Might want to edit that one as it is a misconception by alot of people in and of itself. The MMA doesnt say any such thing. It is not in our Act anywhere. Should patients comply to that other law to be safe? Yes..... As Mal stated it should not be enforceable for patients and caregivers.

Ok now I will add a misconception by law enforcement. When they see a card that does not then mean it is their job, duty or RIGHT to then search and make sure patient or caregiver is in compliance.

had to read that a bit to understand your point. I clearly see it now, and you are right. there is no case in the law, only added later right?

I put mine in a briefcase in my trunk. sometimes I purposely do not lock the combo latches, because I'm bad like that.

That part was not added to our act. It was passed seperate in and of itself not amending our act. The safe bet is to comply but it is NOT IN THE MMMA LAW WHATSOEVER and was NOT ADDED TO IT EITHER. The other bills DID amend our act but that one DID NOT. And you are correct the law that states about carrying it in the trunk does only say enclosed in a case and nothing about being locked. Safest thing is to have it locked but does not require it.
