I don't think it was that but a good theory someone from my local hydro store had said those seeds probably took forever to sprout because the shell of the seed wasn't moisty inuff but idk I just thinks it's crazy.. I barely transplanted them because.I didn't want three plants in one little pot..I want to post a pic or to but I don't no.how

some seeds take longer to germ. depends on temps, humidity, ph etc.

i watch an indoor grower on youtube (non mj) who reuses his soil and sometimes he'll get seeds germinate months and months after he originally planted and gave up on them.

so always keep them seeds around. dont toss them until they turn to mush! :)

even in outdoor vegetable garden. you'll throw seeds down one year, nothing will come up. next year, boom! dormant for a year but still viable. nature works in mysterious ways.

About 20 years ago I (well sorta me, really me and my parents) germed a seed that was at least 25 years old. I found a small stash that was my uncle's.  My uncle was my dad's brother. He went to Viet Nam in 1968 and didn't come back. My dad had helped my grandparents clear out my uncle's bedroom in my grandparent's house and there were 4 or 5 boxes of his stuff that sat untouched in our basement for literally 25 years (ever since my oldest sister was born).

When I was 15 I went through the stuff with my dad when he finally decided to do something with it and I found a small stash of marijuana wrapped in tin foil. My dad said the marijuana would be no good and he flushed it down the toilet but he kept like 8 seeds that were there. He didn't smoke marijuana and didn't want me smoking it but he thought it would be a cool experiment to try and sprout the seeds just to see if we could.

They were put in a clay pot about 6 or 8 inches in diameter with regular potting soil. They got watered when my mom would water her houseplants and after maybe a month with nothing my dad was going to dump it out. My mom suggested we soak them in water like she would do with hard dried beans. A few that could be found in the soil (not all of them, some probably disintegrated) were put in a shot glass full of water. They sat there for 2 months exactly. I remember this because it was the same day in August as the day I got outta school for the summer in June.  One sprouted.  We took it out and planted it in a pot and my dad threw the rest out.

It grew super slow for about 2 more months on our kitchen windowsill. Maybe close to 3 months.  It was probably 8 inches tall and very bushy when it's poor life ended and my mom cut it off and put it down the garbage disposal.  It was cool to me to see my parents willing to try it out because they were not the type you'd think would do that.

I didn't know anything about the grow cycle then but I have wondered if the reason she cut it was because it was maybe starting to flower. I don't know but it got a lot of sun during the day and there was always a fluorescent light on at night.  So maybe the shortened day in the fall started the flower process.  That's only a guess though.  I should ask the 'rents about that.

Anyway, it took forever to sprout obviously but it seemed healthy.  It was very bushy and dark green and had leaves the size of quarters maybe.

Don't know why I spent so much time writing this out other than to tell a story of a long germination.

I had one come up 2 weeks later than the rest & all were started at the same time.

It was so tiny and frail looking I almost pulled it.  Loving a challenge I left it.

For another 2 weeks it barely grew at all.  Then bam... take off.  It is one of

the prettiest of the bunch.  Still behind the rest but filling out beautifully.

This is also a mystery seed that somehow ended up in a cup with another.

I remember 'back in the day' saving seeds.  I had those old milk bottles FULL

of them.  I would love to have just a portion of all those long gone seeds to sift through.

Now I can't even afford to buy a bag let alone some seeds. Oh times they are a changing.

edit... I am no seasoned grower so take what I say on grow matters with that in mind :)

I'm embarrassed to admit how much time I spent growing out saved bag seed, mine and others. these were seeds from that awesome bag that came around once in awhile. Now I realize that those buds were just ones that were grown with proper care is all. Most every seed I ever grew from a bag has hermied. I threw all of my saved seeds away finally. Now most every seed I get does not hermie, and 99% has been thrilling to sample.

my bag seeds sucked!
