Rochester To Hold Public Hearing On Medical Marijuana Ordinance

Recommended Posts

After months of revisions, the Rochester Planning Commission is holding a public hearing for an ordinance that would regulate medical marijuana facilities in the city.

The public hearing takes place on Monday, Nov. 3 at the Rochester Planning Commission’s regularly-scheduled meeting.

The city currently has no medical marijuana operations and is under a moratorium on the activity. The ordinance would limit such businesses to the industrial area on the south side of town.

We have to provide a place in the city for these state-approved facilities,” city manager Jaymes Vettraino said. “(The ordinance) puts them in the proper areas in our community.”
