I have a problem staying on bed rest...looking to grow some couch lock...but when am able to move again, gonna sativa all day.

Am very new to all this, so any opinion is a good opinion too me...after all didn't we get legal mmj based on a dr.'s opinion?

Medicine man from Mr. Nice is a nice choice for a nighttime med if you have the room for regular seeds. Anything that is heavily afghan/pakistan centric is your best bet for a knockout indica. Darkstar, Pakistan valley, pakistan kush, afghan kush, mazar-i-sharif, sensi star are a few that come to mind. Don't take a breeders word for it and do your research on the specific strain from THAT specific breeder. There are many white widow and SSH out there, but not all the same genetics. Dinafem is solid as far as that goes. Also keep in mind that different phenotypes may give you some very sativa-ish qualities in a otherwise indica looking plant. Your body and mine will also react differently to different strains. Hope that helps.

I haven't used roots, but have heard mixed things....mostly that porosity is not the best. No idea what roots mix you have, but you can easily add perlite if the mix remains too moist. build-a-soil is a wonderful resource if you ever venture into making your own soil. Have Fun!

medicine man/white rhino from Nice is in my top three go to herbs. I use that one every day of my life, morning, noon, or night, no matter, it tix every box for me, and not surprisingly, for every patient that found me. I've never met anyone who didn't commentthat it was one of the very best ever sampled. excellent direction suneday

All bagged seed plants are now in flowering with 4 led lights.  My old cg said it was blue dream, am not sure what am growing, except my own meds for now.

The beans are sprouting, and under 18/6 with 2 t5's. Still using roots original organics soil.

If the first grow is a type of BD or Azure Haze(a name the cg threw around)  I will have a longer bloom time?

The plants from bagged seed, have dark blue leaves, skinny leaves, and already show orange hairs.

Hopping for the best, but for a 1st try I learned a lot about my set up and have learned from my mistakes.

Thanks everyone for the advice and opinions...

Will put up more picks soon

Oops one more question if i might...How early can you harvest?

Don't rush the harvest. Cutting down too early is undoubtedly the most common mistake among fledgling growers.

Watch for cloudy trichomes. If you don't have a magnifier that you can see them with you'll want to look for at least 70% brown hairs.

Harvest is somewhat subjective, but your trichomes should at least be milky or cloudy. Most people shoot for a % of amber trichomes. My preference is for about 50% amber. Harvest when they are milky/cloudy will generally give your a pretty good cerebral blast up front even with some heavy indicas. As you get more amber you will get more of the body stone/couchlock. Get a good magnifier and get intimate with those ladies. If you have to rely on pistils this time....wait until they recede back to the calyx (70% or so as WB suggested).

As far as those beans....who cares what they are called....take some clones in case you get an allstar....throw clones away if its isn't worth the space in your garden. You can name it "keeper #1" if things work out.

Suneday11 thanks for the link, yeah its on my list of things i need, along with uv glasses.

I agree names are not important, seems very sativa based on the dark blue skinny leaves.  OH yep and I gotta add cloning material to my list.

When does santa come..

I read somewhere that you can harvest a few stems at diff intervals to find the right harvest time for the level of med needed .

Different harvest times will produce diff thc and cbd levels?

You can for sure. Just keep notes of what you do....sometimes we forget things :startle:

Harvest time will have an impact on cannabinoid content.....however, if the plant is ripened and you are just finding your milky/amber preference, the difference won't be anything crazy.

Is blue to a teal colored leaves bad?

are the stems 100% green, or is there any red in them?

"Purpling: accumulation of anthocyanin pigments; causes an overall dark green color with a purple, red, or blue tint, and is the common sign of phosphate deficiency."

are the leaves dark dark green ?

if the plant is healthy otherwise it just might be genetics. nothing to worry about.

The main stems are all green, the branches to big fan leaves are red/purple, i believe the leaves are blue, but hard to tell in the lights. If they are dark green, its really dark green.

Oh I hope I didn't ruin my meds.

I put the other 4 into flower, and here come the darker teal leaves and reddish branches while all main stems are a reg green, the plants were green until the 12/12 was started.
