Shopping Seeds. I Ordered Seeds From Herbies Headshop In The Uk (My Debit Card Detail Shows The Charge).

The cost:  $115 for 10 snow ryder auto fems.  I made the order Monday, and got email notice it was shipped today from the UK.  Estimated delivery time :  5-10 days.  By the 28th; consider the order lost.

Herbies is unusual in that they willingly ship to the US, and most seed banks handling short stuff seeds, do not.  Of course, the sellers who don't are about 25% cheaper than those who ship to the US.

The is the first time in the last ten years I've ordered from anyone other than dr. greenthumbs.

Snowryder is unique among autos.  Outdoors it stays 15 inches or under, it smells not of dank but of rotten mangoes, and averages 2/3 oz per plant at 8 of 10 potency.

rotten mangoes rock ! I really appreciate the breeders who work with these high cbd hempy strains right into proven winners genetics. I see a viable medicinal future with these curious auto's. with the fact that they can be copied in culture, it will be possible to lock down the star and spread the love with artificial seeds.

The only thing I know about tissue culture is that you do it.  So I'm curious to learn more - are you saying that you can take a strain of MMJ and get it to produce seeds such that each seed is an exact copy of the "mother?" much like a clone would be and that there would be no variation between seeds?

Precisely. I do this as a regular part of my growing experience Even auto's can be cultured this way, of course.

cannabis is loaded with totipotent cells containing all of the dna necessary to reproduce itself. The "clone" will not be like a traditional cutting, but a pure cleaned cell line, unlike plants in production. Not a big deal really, cloning with snips is cheaper faster and more appropriate than culturing plant tissues, for now. But when a greenhouse needs 5 thousand identical plants, ones that will exhibit identical traits without virus' pathogens molds etc, culturing is the only way today that this is accomplished. I've sold thousands of cultures to nurseries over a 20 year period, mostly anomalies they wish to keep in cycle, exploit, etc. venus fly traps, bananas are examples of culture only plants, available as cultures to the masses, as opposed to seeds. They captured my interest with cannabis for a few reasons, one being the legality of the shipment. Another is since I traditionally clone from a clone I choose to "refresh" my stock occasionally with the original once again. I culture cannabis roots also. like that harvest plant you loved , I snip a few roots and voila!

this is exactly how commercial crops are patented, seeded and sold to farmers for controlled cultivation, for a uniform disease free exact copy of the lab owned version. they can and do test these fields of plants often, and when they find one of theirs, they sue.

its really the same science grandma did on her kitchen counter, with the broken spider plant in the cup of water till it rooted.Some plants can fix nitrogen and water from the air, barely needing roots at all, but cannabis needs some time to re establish itself. The totipotency(ability of any cell of the plant to regenerate a copy of its mom) is what we love about cannabis. The ease of fulfilling totipotency varies from one tissue to another, with new fresh healthy meristems as the choice for beginning cannabis culture enthusiasts. Advanced culture looks into seed, root, bud, calyx, stem, and harvested materials. I have yet been able to culture a bud more than two days after harvested. And that's only if its attached to a larger stem. Possible though, but I think it takes radiation/electricity/frequencies/voodoo. Calyx and Anther culturing are my babies but roots are super cool too.

weird, weird science, gm.  too weird.

  • 3 months later...

my herbies order arrived, in two sets of 5 seeds, 9 weeks apart.  overall germination was 50% (5/10).  when i wrote about it they replied to the effect of, sold for souvenirs only, don't write about anything other than shipment.  we will send 6 freebie seeds with your next order.  i'm not gonna order from herbies again unless--they are the only ones who will deliver the strain i want to the united states.  (that was why i ordered from herbies in the first place).

I placed my first order with Herbies on 11/5 and it arrived undisturbed today on 11/14.  Herbies single seeds include many varieties Attitude only has in packs, don't know if the breeders approve but I do.

attitude certainly carries a larger single seed selection than any vendor I've seen. not every strain of course, but take a look

no less than 83 famous breeders offer their selections here;

good luck using attitude now..there's something up over there.they're not doing credit card payments,,,they want you to use bit coins or send cash/uk money orders....it's been like that for the last few months. thats why i'm here because i'm going to try another seed bank..i'd avoid attitude for awhile until they get squared away...bp
