Halloween Party / Harvest Festival / Medical Cup

I hate to go and be a spoil sport but I tend to call it like I see it

blessing or curse...

but if it wasn't for the few friends I had met through this site and hooked up with at the Halloween/Harvest Festival/ Medical Cup...

it was a complete dissapointment to say the least :(

although there were more than enough dabs for all

that it just doesn't do it for me...

the let's all get together and get overly medicated...often to the point of abuse (not that I have a problem with it, just pointing out the obvious) and then try to be social in a claustrophobic tent with propane heaters that  you have to keep rotating around like a marshmallow over the coals of a campfire

ok my anxiety issues were exacerbated a little maybe

it was a major factor of course that the weather was bad with the snow and high winds ( who plans an outdoor event in Michigan at the end of October without an indoor option...I'm kinda new around here but we don't do that in Ohio duh?)

anyway although I met a handful of kindfolk...Anna with her great attitude and cowgirl cookies and willingness to help us out of the mud pit parking lot (even though her husband  wouldnt give her the keys because... "she didn't know how to pull someone out and was worried about his truck..." so I call moo poo on him with his bum leg and lame excuses...

she seemed more than capable of engaging a truck into 4x4 and pulling a minivan 20 feet across a flat baseball field...

I wouldn't have insulted her like that let alone moo poo that "you are too messed up to do it yourself..."

and to the self proclaimed big dog with the showboat goatee and black 4x4 truck that blew me off when I offered to help push him out thinking he was stuck and told me to worry about my darn self...

I would like to extend a kind invitation for an apology as I know there was a general sour mood among the vendors and the organizers that should be taken into consideration...

otherwise be ready to see the not-so-kind side of kindfolk ;)

but thanks so much for the kind soul we had to pull from the BBQ pit to pull us out and help get us on our way

you my friend were a godsend at a time when I had my fill of stoners and self proclaimed "grass roots gurus" with 4x4 trucks unwilling to help out a neighbor who just needed a little tug to get to solid ground

all and all I will say its unfortunate that the positive energy that should have been the foundation of the event was lacking if randomly apparent from time to time

I'm all for legalizing for recreational use but I'm much more interested in the many medicinal uses so...

no more dab until you are gazing at your shoes "because we can" events for this kid...sophomoric nonsense that's not what I'm in this for I guess to each their own...SDTL

I pushed many people out Saturday, including our car. Was a very hectic event, and lacked any real direction. I did have a good time though, but I was mostly there at set up and didn't stay very late any night. I wanted some new genetics and got more than I could have hoped for. Friday and Sunday were a better time for me. Saturday was pretty cramped.

How about a hayride and a big azz bonfire? The potato gun will be there,it's a blast to shoot taters and see how far they go! Homemade brew and mead, hot cider and soft drinks for those that don't drink. No tent! The garage is the "in" place, with a nice big woodstove. North of Rochester.......... And nobody gets drunk,we have plenty of coffee and hot cocoa. Hicks only, wear your carhardt bibs and hunting boots with pride! How does that sound,Kindfolk?  Winter outside is fun,all you have to do is dress warmly. Tractors are there, nobody will get stuck. And all real nice folks, some puff, some don't, and nobody cares.

thanks for being honest about your experience. I am sorry though that you had a negative one. Don't let that get you down on cannabis or the derivatives thereof. you know, dabs don't make boneheads, only boneheads bigger boneheads maybe. :judge:

I am really torn on this subject, and I don't dispute what kindfolk has already stated.

As I understand, it was set for an indoor venue.  The lessor backed out due to it being a cannabis event.

Those people that set up on Fri. were out there in the blowing cold setting tents, porta potties and all.

That hadda be a beiotch.  Come Sat. tents had to be reset due to the snow.  Had the weather been like

the prior week, well things would have been different imo. I did not attend Sunday.

I went to party, get some genetics and meet people... put names to faces & see old pals. I had a good time.

I was dressed for the weather and didn't get cold and that probably made my experience better, maybe?

I met many very friendly kind, generous people who took time with me to explain their wares.

This was put together in just a couple months.  If the organizers are planning another there is a year to

do so and I believe it will come together to be a great event.

Other than that... read my signature :)

Good Deal I look forward to the next festival! I was dressed accordingly so no biggie for me.. Thanks to the effort to put this on in the inclimate weather and short time span.. There r a few places around the Mid Mich are that may be conducive to another, oh say Xmas festival!? Just a thought.  :bong2:

We'll get it together!!! Woo Hoo! :bong7bp:

I would hope so; But, I'll come down and help fix ball diamond! :) I'm not that far away!

now that's the kind of attitude I can get behind!

instead of crying about the experience not living up to my expectations...

maybe I should consider the damage we did to the venue...

we met the owner of the venue upon arrival and he was a kind soul

maybe my energy would be better spent volunteering to help clean up the mess we left behind

as well as becoming more involved in the organization of future events

hopefully I didn't deter anyone from attending future MJ related events

I admit that I might have set my expectation level too high (pun intended)

I'm lucky to be in a state that where folks are so tolerant and understanding
