KINGSTON, Jamaica (AP) — A U.S. private equity firm announced Tuesday it has joined the family of late reggae star Bob Marley in hopes of building what it touts as the "world's first global cannabis brand."

Seattle-based Privateer Holdings announced Tuesday it has reached a licensing deal with Marley's heirs to offer marijuana strains, including ones famed in Jamaica, where regulations permit by late 2015. It also plans to sell weed-infused lotions, creams and various accessories.

Maybe they will find a great many Jamaican lines to be shared.

The Island of Jamaica is a great spiritual place with great medicines.

I follow the place closely..and love it deeply.

After I am D'Ilynnboy. Mon

As a side note, the Marley family has parlayed their last name quite well.

4 Succesful sons who perform Raggae worldwide

And a beautiful daughter who does children's misic.

Be blessed

Let your face turn toward the son/sun my brothers and sisters.

I've sampled the "Jamaican" wares of net providers and have found them to be very pleasant. I don't know though

if they were actually Jamaican cultivars or just in name only. I received some cultures in the mail from the area

awhile ago from a guy there who told me they were from the garden featured on Dateline(?), an episode I happened to see.

His "signature" strain was called something like Golden Back Gorilla. The cultures were part of a trade arrangement and nobody got cash, so I wanted to believe the sender. I've harvested from that line a bunch of times and can say it's unique, powerful medicine favored by all the patients I've had. I call it the same as he did. Whatever it is we love it. Its in my top ten of all time.

I'd hope to see more Jamaican strains from the area soon, inspired by the Marley family.

(sorry if the repost from Yahoo news was offensive/spam. I figured the announcement was uber relevant to any marijuana forum discussing strains, in any country. Their namesake is a universal cannabis freedom reference to many. I'd guess they would not sign their name to any other than Fire genetics, and I might be the first(ya never know) to sample them wooohooo !!!)

The good times of today, are the sad thoughts of tomorrow.

The stone that the builder refused, will always be the head cornerstone.

Cmon Grass,

You got the Goldenback Gorilla?

Your kidding me?

What about LambsBreath?

Not Lambs Bread..^^^

LambsBreath...it supposedly comes from the Maroons in WestMoreland parish.

Only smoked it twice, and grew it once ( unfortunately not to fruition).

What about True Jamaican Red. You know True Red Sativa buds.

I grew that once back around 95 or 96.

Love me some Jamaican..anyting Brah.

As a side note.

Did you want me to get the Kitchen Carrot culture kit?

There is several different kinds of kits.

Cauliflower, tobacco, carrot, general .

And was it a classroom kit? Or a demonstration kit?

Fudge, man your killing me with your trading.

Wish I had the balls or skills..

You know about the GBG !?? fill me in, I lost contact with the mon 'or der and have little details.

For all I know I could be enjoying the LambsBreath as the GBG? I grew and sampled a supposed LB, it was different than

this one, and I lost interest after a few harvest. The GBG however is a friggin star in my room. a real tally, not much weight, lanky, excellent for a scrog, if I had the patience. I'm totally unable to naturally bonsai them so far, but its a blast. They root in four days here and go to flower almost immediately if scheduled.

kitchen culture-yes-carrot-yes-chapest starter kit offered-yes. know that this will not bring a cannabis culture to finish, but will most definitely bring you to where you need to be, before you waste anymore money on the craft. It gets expensive after this. Its a numbers game in the beginning, culture a hundred, save 2, maybe. so the more the better. Then after more experience you'll find yourself balsy and culturing only a couple dozen to save 11. When that's done, multiplying, dividing, rooting, chuting, artificial seeds, ....play time begins, more hormone, less hormone, different containers, culture suspension. still interested....time to fruit, trade cultures. get a dedicated pressure cooker, stove top is fine, a large clearish tote, no lid. cans of your favorite smell Lysol, a small 2x2 even grow tent, a dedicated closet, face mask, smock, tweezers, alcohol burner while awaiting your order.

How is the buzz on that Gorilla?

Lazy and couchy?

Happy and dreamy?

Energetic and trippy?

Or ?

Cmon give it up!

Send me your culture list and I will send you an order..no cultures to trade back though.

Just kidding.. Or am I?

Later Grass.

No lazy or couchy strains allowed in the GM gardens typically. (occasional special requests only)otherwise=YUCK!

Think "Chinese eyes, sore mouth, tingling teeth, phase shifting, trippy, energy or not, color morph, tunnel sounds, no ceiling, long legs". these are patients' words, and I have to agree. I'm seasoned and well done here, and this one cuts right through any residual funk, leaves no hangover. the first spark of a joint fills the room with a milky temple incense smell that continues to the end. Its much more flavorful when used in the first 4 weeks, losing some of its essence after. Will grow from 6 inches to 6 feet in 60 days if allowed, normally unable to support itself. The essence of the flower is true to the temple smell. Very eastern feeling about it, uniquely strange one for sure.

That is what I dug up.

Girls were cloned two days ago and flipped.

Should I do the original mothers/seedlings or from the clones?

Is there a difference?

Or should I do roots?

Fudge, I need time for much reading.

I am not torn.

I just hope that they spread the love I mean money.

I know that Ziggy has started a couple of charities in Jamaica.

Let's hope they do what's right with their fathers name and Legacy.

Although I read an accompanying story that stated they only sold the Liscensing right to the name.

That would be disappointing if it were true.

http://www.kitchenculturekit.com/basic-kit.aspxthat's the kit I was talking about. pony up, sorry. If you get the cheapest you'll want the next step up soon maybe. I suggest this one for a full experience, after reading Plant From Test Tubes.

flipped?? to 12/12? wow, without even forming roots yet? please explain

your host should be the cleanest healthiest donor possible. roots are fun too, but stick to the steps, learn to develop roots before you learn to culture them. it makes better sense you'll see. By the time you've completed the steps you wont have to ask what it takes to fruit, you'll know.

Why are you torn?

Because they are using the name of their father to make money?

If so, you should be torn When you pass a Christian church.

I mean Gods name or Jesus Christs name is used rather frequently.

I use my fathers name everyday.

It just happens not to be marketable..

I have much Marley music, Ziggy,Damian,Stephen, Kymani as well as lots of Bob with and without the Wailers.

Bob was a musician as well as a man.

He would understand.

Is it any different than wearing a Bob Matley T shirt?

Or drinking that Marley Mellow Mood drink?

Hell they even have shoes with the Lion of Zion on them.

Just trying to make money they are.

I'm over it already. but the "copywriting" of marijuana strains used to trouble me for some reason. now, I could give a rats azz. There's so many bs names now. When dna testing becomes more affordable we'll see the source of all those "lemon" strains maybe. I've known growers in 2008 who named their buds as they were drying depending on the effects, smells looks etc. It's out of hand now I think.  Willie Nelson should be able to copy write a plant "name" just as a apples and oranges are. Unfortunately he'll have to gmo change a feature to make it unique to him and his patent. I think GH already has a few of these currently. It's America right?. I don't hear anybody fuss when a new color flower is patented?   I've considered a variegated cannabis plant or a glowing one to be pretty unique to the industry. Fortunately(?) someone else has too, and patented the processes long ago.

If you're nearby and have a need for the expensive hormone(s), let me know. a drop goes a long way.

Anyone who would make a purchase based on a name endorsement from a dead celebrity deserves whatever they get.

Marley’s estate this year also launched Marley Apparel, a lifestyle clothing line designed by Bob’s eldest daughter, Cedella Marley. I buy a seed because some stranger online suggests its the best they ever had, so no stopping me when a marijuana celebrity family endorses a strain. I'm guessing they would not have anything to do with junk genetics, for all I know it could just be a relabeled Kush, but so what, 15$ isn't that much to try some like a sucker. I acquired the ones that I heard the Hollywood stars/rappers buzzing about. they were right, Hollywood is on Fire!

After you have been doing this for a while you will get tired of sprouting sucker seeds, unless you don't have any decent strains yet. It gets old ....

I've purchased genetics from every cup winning breeder, and most breeders showcased on the attitude too. I have only two disappointments since 2008. Every other strain was grade A medical valued to me or a patient. I have however made mistakes with plants and caused failures, but I never judged the genetics until repeated several times over. Blueberry failed repetitively with sexual confusion, but was still a strong effects winner. I've never experienced a hermie other than her that I didn't purposely cause. shes long been fired though. I have a 28 strain library that I keep in the stable full time. They are the worlds best according to me and my past patients.(subjective of course). variety is the spice of life, I wont stop sampling others "best ever" genetics. its a blast.

I am not into branding, never have been.

I don't buy Marley T's, papers, coffee, energy

drinks and whatever other products come up.

Guess I'm just not 'hip' :)

I have and do buy music & I lean towards Jr.

This is capitalism and just the way it is as long

as the monetary system is in place.

Doesn't mean I have to buy into it.
