Wexford County Mother Charged With Child Abuse.

Recommended Posts

For giving her children Cannabis to treat their ADHD. No mention of the form of Cannabis, she was using to treat them. Smoked, raw in juice form, raw in capsules, CBD/THC levels, Dr. Involvement, or treatment options, previously used.

I'm just glad I don't have children, I'm not advocating what she was doing, but I hate seeing kids strung out on Adderal and Ritalin (same chemical structure as methamphetamine and cocaine). There has been a study that showed positive effects in adolescents, but only in patients that were also suffering from schizophrenia.

I don't think people understand how prohibited cannabis is. I also don't think children should be taking mind altering drugs, to control anything.

If the treatment was that important she should have moved to a state where her children could be closely monitored by doctors, to determine any adverse reactions.

If you want to stay natural, fine, don't use anything.

Thanks, doctor. Are you aware of the truly mind altering drugs prescribed to children for debilitating conditions like epilepsy and autism? Specialist physicians are aware, and when faced with the facts, have no problem recommending cannabis over the other options.

Yes, I don't want to see kids on legal speed either.

IMO, I guess it really depends on how she was administering it, and if it was psychoactive, but ADHD/ADD is'nt a currently allowed condition, and you'd be hard pressed to find a doctor in this state to recommend it.

I have all the symptoms of ADHD, and was prescribed Ritalin, Concerta, and Aderal. They did nothing positive for me, and I stopped taking them. Years later after being recomended cannabis, for pain stemming from a spinal injury and Arthritis, my ADHD symptoms are finally under control. Just an added bonus.

The story linked doesn't give away very much in the way of details, either. I think I come off as a Republican (sometimes) on paper, but my heart is Libertarian. I don't have the answer, just an opinion. I like the ideals that Republicans are supposed to espouse. Right up until they decide that corporations are people, and their opinion is the word of God.

I don't think we need more regulations, we need more studies, and an open mind to the benefits this plant can offer.

are pediatric specialist physicians exempt from the rules that forbid large numbers of physicians from recommending medical cannabis to adults? I haven't met anyone who's primary doc would certify, the reason I ask.

I don't go to clubs so I report on a half dozen or so patients I know of, along with the past patients I've had, none of which were certified by their primary. Maybe its demographics? Theres a lot of chatter even here though about "not telling your primary" and "find a cert doc", so I wasn't surprised at these reports(including my own personal experience with my primary, who"cannot certify mj while affiliated with "ABC medical group").
