Names of those arrested are being withheld pending arraignment. The investigation remains ongoing.

Keweenaw Bay Indian Community Tribal Police, Baraga City Police, Baraga County Sheriff's Department, L'Anse City Police, Drug Enforcement Administration, U.S. Marshalls Office, Border Patrol, Homeland Securities Investigations, and the Michigan State Police all assisted with the investigations and arrests.

They were taking it over state lines (Fed territory) and if DHS was involved, most likely, bringing it in from another country. I've never heard of heroin being produced within the U.S. If the tribal police were involved, a Rez was most likely being used as cover, the reservation itself, is sovereign territory (another country) that alone would warrant DHS.

Keweenaw Bay Indian Community voters decisively rejected proposals to purchase the Baraga Lakeside Inn as site of a new casino, and to approve $31.2 for renovations and construction on the property, at their annual tribal election Saturday.

Tribal members approved non-binding referendums on tribal sanction for same sex-marriages, and to legalize recreational marijuana possession on the reservation.
