Another Cnbc Documentary

I like the section on breathalyzers to determine impairment level. Too many people lose jobs because of THCs ability to be detected a month after using!

I sat there cringing at the wording they used for it "With the breathalyzer police will be able to determine if a driver is under the influence. It is our number one priority right now." I don't trust their judgement and I think the technology company pushing it will fake their answers to keep the funding and the contract alive.

To your second point, I can only say "Amen".

If anyone watched did they see the part with the doctor talking about epilepsy treatment in children? I'll admit I was screaming when the guy was talking because I just wanted him to shut the...well...I hoped he would desist speaking.

His statement was (paraphrasing here) that more research needs to be done but they have seen promising results. BUT the results aren't as dramatic as "the media" has made them appear. He says that they have only documented 1 in 3 cases where the treatment has had dramatic benefits. He then restates that the benefits have been dramatic but that the press leads people to believe a higher percentage of children were successfully treated through CBD. We have a large number of children who receive no benefit from the billions spent from the major drug companies to help them with their problem but do find life-changing relief from this plant that has been given a cursory and biased glance and the scientist is going to be "disappointed" that only 30% of the children's lives are being changed??!!

"Schedule I substances are those that have the following findings:

  1. The drug or other substance has a high potential for abuse.
  2. The drug or other substance has no currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States.
  3. There is a lack of accepted safety for use of the drug or other substance under medical supervision." Controlled Substances Act (CSA)

So we can prove that there are children having accepted medical use for treatment in the United States for an illness that no other drug (regardless of schedule) can relieve. The only explanation is that maintaining a Schedule I classification for marijuana violates the CSA and is thus unconstitutional.

When a neuroscientist claims the media is being hyperbolic in its assessment of marijuana's efficacy in treating epilepsy because "only" 1 in 3 children are having their lives changed it makes you wonder how this uphill battle can ever be won. Look at one kid running around or doing something and now imagine them in a hospital bed from an induced coma because they have 40 seizures a day. Now be the person that says "We can't help your child because Pfizer hasn't figured out how to do what this plant can." When you can do that and stuff both pockets with cash you are ready for Congress or even the Presidency.

yeah yesmichigan, i wanted to punch the guy thru my tv when i saw that clip.

try calling or writing a letter to that hospital and tell them your feelings about what messages they are spreading in the media.

dont forget to send a letter to CNBC about their handling of these obvious lies of omission that these doctors are spreading.

30% is better than the nothing they are getting now!

they could save 1 in 3 kids. thats pretty impressive from a bunch of guys growing plants dont you think???

i've seen some other lies like that, i should start a list of things they say

1. we dont know what cbd does, it needs more study

2. only 30% have DRASTIC changes in seizures, thats not an amazing number

3. kids could get high! oh nooooo

i just wonder why these people say these things? are they paid by drug companies? trying to save their jobs? hospital policy?

a non toxic drug comes along with some easy side effects like giggling and sleeping and they still hate on it. crazyness.

these are the same kinds of people 50 years ago that would give people lobotomies and use shock treatments.

barbarians, not scientific method doctors looking out for the well being of people and to FIRST DO NO HARM.

you're doing a lot of harm with your anti-marijuana talk right now doctor!!!

the thing that pisses me off so making whoopee much is that the government knew about this in 1980

do you have any idea how many epileptics have died since 1980 ?

how many kids and adults that information and medicine could have saved?

email that study to these "doctors". email it to everyone you know and your senators and represenatives. spread the word like crazy. the time is now.

Thank you! I'm out of "likes" for the day.

I listened to him for a couple of minutes in almost disbelief and then he kept talking. Dismissing thousands of children whose lives have been changed because of CBD knowledge and application. He seemed like a normal guy but in my eyes transformed in to a Demon with every word he spoke. The callousness because he was born healthy to say anything but "It is awesome that we have gotten the response from patients that we have!" Instead he tried to run the Governor's line of optimistic caution. It is that policy that is causing untold thousands of children to suffer today. The stigma attached because of a century old snipe hunt concocted by men with devious and malicious intent.

To your questions: I think that guy was from the Colorado Neurological Institute. I can't find him mentioned online so I need to re-watch it. I remember it was on his shirt and prominently displayed. A little research on them and I find "All of our programs are funded by private and corporate donations." They do some great work and I think their hearts are in the right places for sure. I don't think he was being dishonest in wanting to find out what part of the plant helps and why. Is the Institute's overall funding assisted by some corporate donations to keep CBD developments "in perspective"? I don't know. All I do know is ONE little kid who can play instead of sit at the hospital means Schedule I classification is immoral.
