Do Not Buy Atmos Products!

UGH!

Thinking myself the savvy consumer, I spent an hour or so looking through reviews, and Atmos pens kept coming up. My first clue should have been they were all magazine reviews, I should have taken my time and gone through forums, where you can't PAY for a positive review!

90$ down the drain and the thing doesn't vaporize. It's a freaking e-pipe. I figured I was doing something wrong until I read in the directions that this POS doesn't come with it's own charger. It starts dawning on me that I've been taken by slick metal and a fancy website when I click the pen to start it up again to see if I can jimmy rig it to work better and...

NOTHING!

Top of the line pen, dead after a few uses. Light comes on to charge, though. How fancy.

I just LOVE learning lessons the hard way, don't you? It's cool, I didn't need the 100$, it's not like I'm on a limited budget or anything. Definitely wasn't eagerly awaiting my new hopefully prized possession.

MARKETING!

Who needs quality products when you can pay people to lie?

EDIT- Read my latest post in the topic. Be wary, but some products do actually deliver. Read the post!

My wife and two of her patients have an ATMOS.   Bought them online from some supplier in FL.  $35 each.   None of us had any experience with the various pens and these seemed to be rec'c the most.   They use them with dried product.  Seem to work fine, but do clog easily.  Found that you can easily clean them with a qtip and alcohol.

All the above said, we have no experience to know if all the cleaning is normal or unacceptable.

I was very baffled about the pricing.  For example when I went to the ATMOS site I got the impression the pens are $100.  A search online turned up the $35 price so we bought one.   The quality of the piece and all the packaging lead me to believe that the pieces we got are real.  Perhaps they have dumped them since no one is happy with the cleaning.

Anyway, you our experience here

The problem is the piece of crap doesnt even really vape. It's like an e-pipe, so I'm not clammering to fix it. I was hugely disappointed before it died!

I emailed them and their PR people told me the best thing to do was to send the battery in to get fixed, and spend more money on their website! Why didn't I think of that! Now, with my fancy 15% coupon I got ( wayyyy too generous of them, I know), I can go buy the &*(^&*^ charger that DOESN'T SHIP WITH THEIR STUPID E-PIPES!

Can you link the one you got?

I have an O2 Vape that is sort of good enough. Tank died the other day almost immediately after being filled. Might have been my fault so lesson learned and move on. I started contemplating a better unit but it seems many use the same tanks and only the batteries differ.

Has worked well for me. Just stick with the battery that comes with it. I got mine for $50.

80$ all together after shipping. Totally worth it looks cool lying on the table. 80$ useless centerpiece!

I did get a bad battery on a Meddi-Slim but I purchased it locally and they gave me a new one. The first eGo Twist battery i bought didn't work and I took it back and they took care of me. That was when I made friends with the vape store people and won't buy online anymore.

Stinks that you got jammed like that. All I can do is empathize because I had a quantity of medicine that will never provide me relief due to a technical "glitch".

I'm so thankful that you took time to write this, I was looking at one just yesterday and was seriously considering it.

Right now I have an O2 vape and like it a lot, but I've had a few cartridges die while they were half full and it's nearly impossible to get the content transferred to a new one so every time this happens you are basically out $40 worth of oil.  Wish someone had a trick to transferring content :-)

Peace,

Z

This is its own thread but I'm glad you mentioned it. I had a conversation with another patient yesterday and the topic was cartridges. The ones you get with the O2 vape or the Meddi Slim are meant to be disposable. She said she won't use them more than twice (initial fill and one more after). I thought I was being paranoid switching out every third. We both know people who use them for five + or until they die.

You can order them for $8 a piece (after shipping and tax) so every 3rd .5 mL means an extra $2.67 in "equipment" cost. Worth it to me because I don't think there is a good way to transfer once a tank dies. Heating a knife and splitting it open and using the oil on rolling papers or letting it drip down on to cigarettes are methods I know of to extract from a dead tank.

I did see one product: http://www.gentlemansvapes.com/products/v2-mega-oil-cartridge-holds-1-gram-new

"The ultimate hash oil atomizer -- no other cartridge can match its capacity or performance. The Mega V2 Oil Cartridge is the best choice for vaping essential oils, waxes, budder, butane honey oil (BHO), hash oil, crumble, shatter and other full melt concentrates. Our atomizers use a ceramic heating element and are solder-free, so you can taste the THC and not the cartridge."

The world needs a tank with a coil that can be replaced independent of the tank. That and world peace and we'd be all set.

We've been using them until they die but have now had to switch to using them for a certain amount of refills.

One of the big problems that I've noticed is that some oils tend to be too thick and will not wick through the fibers at the bottom of the tank, you can thin the oil out with vegetable glycerin or propylene glycol and they will work better and your oil will go a bit further.  Just an FYI :-)

Many folks don't like using propylene glycol which is fine, I get it.  Vegetable glycerin is organic but it's water soluble so it will not mix with oil without separating (I've tried both).

Definitely going to try the Mega V2 Oil Cartridge, thanks for the advice.

The True Labs of late has been very thick and not working well with the medi-slim style cartridges. Mitten Meds are vaping as smooth as ever in the same unit still. A second preparation of the True Labs I used in old school atomizer (Green Lantern) and enjoyed it quite well I'll admit.

On the cartridge angle (as it applies to the medi-slim "disposables") I think I identified a point of failure when the element slowly works its way through the insulating base. It eventually creates a break where the vapor tube runs up the side. Not the end of the world but it blocks the ability to get a vape until it warms up.

I will also empirically state that I have not had an element die as long as I have been using the supplied battery. The only failure has been the element burning through and my caution to not put oil in a unit that may not allow total consumption.

I'll also say the O2 Vape battery that I have lasts 1/2 as long and doesn't generate the power of my meddi-slim though they look like they came from the same factory. Could be a one-off thing but the O2 for $15 more seems to have less battery power and is the same cartridge as the meddi-slim.

Thanks for the personal experience and knowledge.

NOTED and will do! SO MAD!!!

Im sorry that happened to you!  You have been a member here for over a yr now!  I know we do alot of arguing but there are alot of great tools to use here in several different scenario's.

when I first started vaping I realy wanted a volcano, but I couldnt afford one, so I bought a cheap easy vape (45 bucks on ebay) I purchased like 5 of them after I tried the first one so I could give them to people who wanted to get a vape but couldnt afford one. I than purchase a vaper one, that one was like 100 bucks at the time and it would blow up balloons, you could hook a gas mask to it, or just a whip, it had 3 speeds on the fan, the only thing I dont like about it is you cant shut the fan off, but on the good side of that is you didnt have to puff it blew it in your mouth, I could be online and just have that whip clamped to my shirt collar and have it just keep blowing vape into my mouth, I still have it I havent broke it out in a few yrs, but im gonna lol!

so basicaly what I done was got me 2 cheaper vapes that basicaly did what the volcano could do and for alot cheaper, I still dont have a volcano and use my easy vape all the time, I found a lil tric for my easy vape, when it is sitting up right the glass element is tilted up which makes the mm force itself down to the element and could burn the mm. so I would flip it upside down when it got to its desired heat and it made the glass element straight and the mm dont burn that way it just vapes, and very well I might add.

Make sure you look around and ask questions, start a thread about vaping, although I believe there is one in here some where, but that dont mean you cant start your own like you have now!

Im hoping you get alot of different answers in this thread and just pick and choose, your going to get alot of dif opinions and it doesnt mean any one is wrong, we just have alot of pt's and pt/cg,s in here who have already done what you are doing, and it realy is alot cheaper to learn from other's mistake instead of waisting our fixed income on things we may be able to afford but we hope it is gonna work for us for the long haul!

can you return your pen?

I wish you the best, dont be to disapointed, you just learned a hard lesson!

Peace

I finally got mine back with a working battery and charger. 100% piece of crap, 0/10 would not be fooled into buying again. Load it too tight, wont "vape", load it looser, suck hash and keif into mouth. When it does hit, it does it well 2 times.

well worth 80$ and 40 emails.

UPDATE!

Testing the pen with shatter and wax yielded slightly more favorable results. If you like wasting large amounts of good material to get a slightly-better-than-a-hot-knife taste, Atmos is your pen.

Did I mention I threw it away? It was causing me so much anger every time I looked at it. Live and learn.
