Consider possibly some of the smoke shops as well? maybe even getting in touch with the guys who do the triple M report that you see in said shops? (Not sure if they are already here or not, but hey, figured I'd shoot that out there  :yahoo-wave: )

Yup. Opportunities are where you find them.

Just saying, it'd be easy for every-day people as well as pt's/cgs (that's not implying that pt'/cg's aren't also every-day people, still golden there pony-boy) to be able to pick up one of those magazines at a visit to their favorite pad. Maybe run an advert outlining what "legalization" really means to the state and what they'd actually be voting for.

Maybe it is time to target those lawmakers who are bought and paid for. You only have to swing a few percentage points to change the outcome of an election.  Wonder how those two legislators would like to be pictured  in an ad saying "The Pot Mafia" that conservative district would have kittens. Handing our flyers near restuarants where the church people go for breakfast after church for instance. How much would  a few thousand brocures cost? Their are more than a few creative folks in the MM community who could design  a great brocure.

these elected officials need to get the message that we will fight back .

I am sorry to say

Do you think paid memberships helps ?

Absolutely it does............ And as called for before I also encourage anyone that uses this site on any kind of regular basis to please pitch in if you can and become a paid member. It is not required but I for one certainly encourage it and if someone just can't then give someone some moral support. Lord knows alot of us need that from time to time............

Call and ask her about this;

A group from Oakland Co reached out to the NPRA and we sat down with them yesterday February 13th. They are calling themselves The Michigan Responsibility Council (SUZIE MITCHELL)and are preparing to put full legalization on the 2016 ballot. Here's what they plan to do:

1. Repeal the MMMA of 2008
2. Divide the state into 10 sections where there will be 10 large grows supplying the state.
3. Tax all marijuana including medical
4. Ban all home cultivation
5. Allow for a limited number of distribution canters per 10 districts that must receive all product from the 10 big grows
6. Strategically give the 10 grow licenses by property address straight to their funders.

Suzan Mitchell started her career as a newspaper reporter and then directed Oakland County Michigan’s Department of Public Information from 1983 to 1992. She and two other Michigan Pioneers, Heinz Prechter and Paul Welday, organized “American Dreamers” in 2000. Dreamers sought to drum up George W. Bush contributions from minorities—a rare breed among the Pioneers. Mitchell said she started her 2000 Pioneer pitch with a soft putt, saying how personable Bush is and how much he cares about schools. If that fails, she pulls out her Michigan driver, saying, “If anything hurts the auto industry and kills it as [Gore] would like to, we are in some serious trouble here.” A 2002BusinessWeek article said big business reluctantly backed Michigan Congressman John Dingell—who has been tough on every industry but autos—out of fear that his defeat would promote California firebrand Henry Waxman to be the House Energy & Commerce Committee’s senior Democrat. The article, which noted that even GOP donor Suzie Mitchell donated to Dingell’s campaign, failed to mention that Dingell is a Mitchell client.   Membership 2000 cycle; Minor League Pioneer

Paul F. Welday Occupation: President

Employer: Strategic Public Affairs

Home: Farmington Hills, MI

Congressman Joe Knollenberg made political consultant Paul Welday his chief of staff after Welday helped Knollenberg win office in 1993. Welday joined fellow Michigan Pioneers Heinz Prechter and Suzie Mitchell to form “American Dreamers,” a 2000 drive to raise money for Bush from minorities who traditionally supported the Democratic Party. Welday’s boss led the congressional charge to force the Environmental Protection Agency to scale back 1998 initiatives to protect minority communities from absorbing a disproportional share of toxic pollution (so-called “environmental racism”). Welday also has crusaded to repeal federal “low-flow” toilet standards that seek to conserve water. “It’s a grassroots movement,” Welday says. “People are saying, ‘Get the government out of my bathroom.’” Welday stepped down as Knollenberg’s chief of staff in 2002, though his Renaissance Strategies consulting firm continued advising the campaigns of Knollenberg and Representative Fred Upton. In 2002 Welday launched Strategic Public Affairs lobby firm, with offices in Michigan and Washington. Welday reported 10 paying federal lobby clients in 2002, led by the Michigan Jewish Institute, Lawrence Technological University and the National Center for Manufacturing Sciences. The Oakland County Board of Commissioners, near Detroit, awarded Welday’s firm a $98,000 contract in 2003 to represent it in the state legislature. This contract triggered a scandal because Welday served as chair of the Oakland Co. Republican Party and two county commissioners had close ties to the firm. County Board Chair Tom Law is the brother of Welday’s lobby partners, Robert and Gerald Law, and Commissioner Martin Knollenberg is the son of Welday’s congressional boss. “This whole thing is a setup,” complained Democratic Commissioner Eric Coleman. “We’re voting to hire relatives at the same time we’re laying people off.” Wearing his lobby hat six months later, Welday urged the commissioners to pick Commission Chair Tom Law as their new administrative director, an appointment that would triple his $31,000 salary. This prompted Democratic commissioners to propose a reform that would bar the county’s lobbyists from lobbying the commissioners.

Jesus. This stuff goes deep. The fascinating thing is that they are all in it for personal gain. Kiss the next azz in line and try to move up.
