What was Tim Beck saying about Prairie Plant wasting their money?

More importantly what happens if Michigan ends it's medical program?

Kirsten Gillibrand, Rand Paul, and Cory Booker will bring fourth a Senate bill to legalize the medicinal use of cannabis under federal law tomorrow, multiple outlets are reporting. This bill would give an unprecedented effort to legalize medical marijuana on a federal plateau. We have seen a many states legalize recreational cannabis the course of the past few years, and about 50% of the states have a medical marijuana program, but the proposal — entitled the “Compassionate Access, Research Expansion and Respect States Act” — would be the largest efforts at legalization yet.

“THE BILL WOULD BE THE FIRST OF ITS KIND”

Vox is stating that the bill will also make an effort to reclassify cannabis from Schedule 1 to 2. Schedule 1 drugs are viewed as dangerous with no medicinal purpose, while Schedule 2 classification would identify cannabis medical benefits.

The bill would in theory expand on an important step that was taken back in December; Congress included a measure in the 2015 annual spending bill that effectively prohibited the federal government from focusing medical cannabis operations in states where they were allowed. It’s also does not add value that this bill will hit the floor with bipartisan backing it — Booker and Gillibrand are liberal Democrats although Paul is very conservative. We will discover whether the support will translate to the rest of the Senate tomorrow when the bill is officially presented at 12:30PM press conference.

Caught a case in Wisconsin last year that if I was in Michigan would of been fine.  Charged with 3 misdas and 2 lowest level felonies deliver and using a car as a drug house.  Trail starts in April I was in passion of less than 15 grams but in 2 baggies. no extra baggies no scale.  had to get a warrant for trunk where I was even following Michigan's transportation law.  Will tthis help me any hope or am I just grasping at straws.

Great news for the country, I'm sure how much so for the citizens of Michigan.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but with Michigan Senate Bill 660 signed into law wouldn't this completely end home cultivation of Cannabis for medicinal uses; thus introducing a whole new form of prohibition in this State?

I don't think SB 660 banned home grows. I could be wrong and will go back and do some reading on it.

Yes pretty scary now if this passes they will treat cannabis like cocaine and Oxycontin , Take down your grows or go to prison, The need to legalize the plant like a flower, no exceptions

Yup... would need a doctor's prescription & a pharmacist to distribute. Doc's would need new shorthand for nugs & lids...?

The prairie plant bill creates a system for pharma grade cannabis.  It is open licensing application though. Anyone can apply for licensing for grows.  They just have mandatory guidelines.  It does not change the MMMAct in any way, EXCEPT you cannot participate in both programs. You will have to drop from the current program to use the prairie plant bill grows/pharmacy etc.

It will be one or th eother,... and they will put extreme pressure to restrict or repeal the current MMMAct for commercial/profit reasons.

 Sketchy ground.

If it goes sched 2, how long before the gov could possibly ever actually really consider moving it to a lower class where people could legally grow their own...? Heck, they still officially say it has no medical value even as we discuss it. Sched 2 is the sweet money spot for corps anyway... in their limited hands but out of everyone else's. IMO sched 2 is a dupe.

Great point zap, I just wonder how it will be interpreted. they want to treat cannabis with "kid gloves" on the face, hopefully an oz of cannabis won't carry similar penalties as an oz of cocaine.

I'm sure it won't but while being optimistic I'm scanning for unintended consequences

It should be classified as a supplement. I already have cannabinoids in my body. I'm just supplementing with cannabis to stimulate my Endo-cannabinoid system.

If this does pass witch most likely wont, but if it does it will give the criminals in command more ammunition. Muddy up the waters and make the laws more confusing then offer the solution...total corporate control of the industry to whom ever does the best job on there knees....
