I just tried to renew my apartment lease and found a new Medical Marijuana Addendum:

I have been smoking there 3 years and I started growing my meds in the spare bedroom last year.
Luckily (bunny muffin!) I am permanently disabled, and MM is used to directly treat my disabling condition.
I used the request for accomodation on p16 of this doc:
My apartment manager was understanding and said they would agree to the accommodation.
I am waiting for their confirmation letter before re-signing the lease.
As to my own views, home cultivation done carefully will not damage anything.  A few
house plants can be just as damaging when they get overwatered.  Renters cause
'damage' today, even without MM.  Checking renters references would be more prudent.
I lived in rental houses for 20 years, and cultivated in several with full knowledge of the
landlords.  Never any damage issues from plants or smoking.
