How Many Hours Of Sunlight Is Enuf For Good Flowering?

For 4 days my flowering has been in a canyon between two tall houses.  The plot (on driveway cement) is 15 x 30.  I'm flowering there since may 1 and as the sun sweeps the sky during lighttime,  i've discovered that I am getting direct sun 630 to 900, and 4 to 6, a total of 4.5 hours per day.

I'd be looking for a new place, 12 hours a day is pretty standard of direct sun... or lights.. i run mine at 12/12 for flower and 16/8 for veg.. outdoors is the same i imagine, but if you use normal light they wont flower for till late fall sometimes up to Nov... depending on strains.. or use a auto flower.. I dont like auto's so im not recommending them.. just my opinion.. remember you also need 50 watts per square.. sun or natural light.. outdoors it way higher than that but rule of thumb..

Shade is good on one side either on the morning or evening side because it will help induce flowering earlier,, or if you induce flowering yourself, then itwill maintain flower better if you are losing a few hours of sun(via shade).

Otherwise, yea,.. sounds like ya need more sun.

^^ This ^^. Except forget about auto flowers

With the spring sun and longer days that plant is going to want to veg. It wants 14+ hours of light but only getting 4.5.Direct. I would be surprised if it flowered full term.

I believe you will have greater quality and yield if you start with a bean or clone going outdoors right now because it's veggie time.

You are wanting the plant to flower when nature says veg.

Thats like wanting to knock up a kardasian and choosing Bruce

A good strategy is to reveg some mothers over the winter. Take cuts a month before going outdoors root them 24hr, Adjust your light schedule for the rooted clones to coincide with spring sunrise and sunset. Take em outdoors when the temps are right.

i tarp the plants to make it artificially dark, and force them.  I move the tarp every other day: sunlight  is currently 14 hours, so 2 hours into this morning, at 830am, I removed the tarp.  Tomorrow at 630pm, I will cover the plants with the tarp.  This makes for 12/12.
