21-Day Rule For Paperwork

I am a patient and met with a caregiver. We completed the paper work and mailed it later that day. I spoke with an individual from my compassion and was told I could use the caregiver in 21 days, even if the new card has not arrived. What is your understanding of the 21 day practice?

The last two cards I received came in 25 days .

The cards seem to be coming out in that time frame but if it doesnt and the caregiver wishes to be card protected he/she better wait until that card comes. That is if you are using a change form to add said caregiver as the 21 business day rule does not apply to those forms. The caregiver will only have CARD  protections once the CARD ARRIVES
