Civil asset forfeiture abuses and police raids in Michigan based on medical marijuana activity have been a major problem since shortly after the passage of the MMMA. Recently, such stories have dominated the news. The compassionate community in the city of Gaylord is in the aftermath of such a paramilitary invasion, and in the case of two 'soccer moms' in St Clair county; their story of being victims of crazy police behavior- has reached national and international audiences. Another medical marijuana case emanating from Oakland County, is heard in the Court of Appeals and may be ultimately be destined for a trip to the Supreme Court.
