Cannabis Substitutes

Recommended Posts

As a patient I found the uses for cannabis by using cannabis as what most would call a recreational user.

I had a disease that started when I was in my teens, ankylosing spondylitis. I'm probably the most functional AS patient you will ever meet. I attribute this to my early recreational use. But it really was not recreational use at all was it?

So I found my drug to combat the disease without using any science at all. I found it by experimenting with drugs and finding the one drug that made me feel really good. Heck, I was 16 and looking for fun. Other drugs were fun but cannabis really put a smile on my face. I was probably already having some symptoms of the AS and cannabis took them away and made me 'happy'.

How many folks are like that? Is the 'buzz' just a relief of symptoms?

So now 'science' is claiming some serious breakthroughs by finding cannabinoid receptors and claiming to know 'how it works'.

You will see claims that other things have the same things that cannabis has so we should be able to substitute in other things for cannabis and get our desired results. Personally, I have not found a substitute for cannabis. My receptors are too selective? The science is bunk? The closest thing I can find to what I get medically from cannabis is Ibuprofen and that's a very poor substitute. If I check the science I read about against my nearly 40 years as being a patient I find very little I can confirm and a whole lot I contend with.

This thread is for real first hand testimonies about the topic of how cannabis works and substitutes.

^^^ Me either.

G W Pharmaceutics, one of the leading pharmaceutical companies, has spent millions (if not billions) on replicating what we enjoy with cannabis.

They have turned to breeding actual cannabis plants for their cannabis type drugs because they have tried everything else without success.

Cannabis is king. There are no substitutes. Very remarkable indeed. No alterations needed. Just grow it. Anyone can grow it yet no one, no matter how smart or financially motivated, can make a substitute for it. Your brain is the lock and cannabis is the key. No other key works. There's no 'picking' the lock. Amazing isn't it?
