Chicken Before The Egg?

New to the forum, doing my research on obtaining my card.

How does one go about finding a CG if you are required to apply with that person listed? I'd want to meet potential CGs to ensure I was compatible with them, their meds were good etc... Seems backwards to me, given that dispensaries are 'not allowed'. Is it I impossible to sample strains to find what works best the way the law is written... What am I missing? If you don't list a CG is the assumption you are growing your own?

Good luck sampling from a caregiver before actually registering them as legal to supply your meds. Its an incredible risk for a grower to share any meds with you until

named as your caregiver on the paperwork sent to LARA. You are legally allowed to acquire your meds anywhere . Nobody except your named caregiver is legally allowed to supply you without risk. I'm not a lawyer, the law is here; http://www.michigan.gov/lara/0,4601,7-154-63294_63303_51869---,00.html

I allow only the best interviewed patients to actually see my meds, like a scratch n sniff at the first meeting. No exchange, no paperwork, just a meet and greet after weeks of interviewing possibly. I wait for the paperwork  exchange meeting to be scheduled and begin supplying them accordingly. If/when we decide to meet, they have always become long term happy patients.

Thank you for the replies, that makes a little more sense. So I would be able to explore options through a dispensary out of Ann Arbor (for example) and would be ok since the risk is on that group, then could find a CG to grow the strains that work best for me? Not able/interested in growing my own.

While on topic, I have CFS/SEID which is basically fibromyalgia with the addition of extreme exhaustion. Continual muscle inflammation and joint pain, non-restful sleep, always in a 'fog'... Can't medicate during the week in the AM, but need something for the pain in the evening that will also help with deep sleep and then something for the weekends for daytime use to tackle a full day without dragging. Any local strains come to mind?

You still need to be able to smoke the meds of who ever is growing before you can assess the quality of the meds and how effective it is for you. Same exact strain can be done very poorly, or very well, or anywhere in between. Even the same grower, with the same strain, has variability between crops.

Beyond how well it is grown (by individual sources), you also have the real concern of misrepresentation, be it intentional or not. You will find several sources claimin strain 'x', but maybe it is the real deal, or likely it is not. Finding a certain strain name at one place is no guarantee that the same strain name at another source are identical.

It isnt easy for a patient at all, but the system we have in effect now isnt designed for the patient's best interests.

Only real way to do it is to sample and find something that fits well for you, whatever the name, whichever the source.

The whole process is likely going to be frustrating. Just to be honest.

Reputable doctor in the very south west corner of Oakland County? My primary care suggested it as an option but doesn't write for it, so I have multiple years of records from them and my chiropractor stating my condition and lack of improvement, as well as information from 2 rounds of physical therapy. Ann Arbor/Ypsi may be options since they appear more 'friendly'.

no worries of options, you already have sufficient records, and all you need is a certification doctor visit. google Oakland county marijuana certifications? Many counties have certification clinics regardless of the way big box docs view the situation. You will have no problems during certifications. the first one listed is an advertiser here
