Countdown At Comos July 26- Milegalize Fundraiser

Recommended Posts

WE NEED TO RAISE EVERY POSSIBLE DOLLAR BEFORE OUR $100,000 MATCHING GRANT PERIOD RUNS OUT JULY 26, AND WE WILL HAVE TO *GIVE BACK* THE PART OF THAT $100,000 THAT WE HAVEN'T MATCHED!.

We have a beautiful outdoor space for Sunday July 26 in downtown Ferndale, and a fine indoor room if the weather is bad...for 75 people. Please Join Us!

In every state, political power is going to determine who controls cannabis. We are fortunate to be organized, with a great initiative in  place - and petitioners on the street.

MILegalize is the "People's Model", the small business, economic growth, high employment plan for marijuana legalization.
Please Contribute Now if this is what you want - or if you just wish to "checkmate" the two "legalization" schemes put forward by Oakland county money managers...the well funded one plans to end caregivers and the MMMA, and place all growing in the hands of 10 companies.

Forgive me, but I must say that effective politics requires big money.Lots of people have given $500, or $1000, or $2500, and we need many more, especially business owners and professional people.

Gold Level Sponsorship for the "Countdown at Como's" is $200 or $350 per couple.
Platinum Level Sponsorship involves a gift of $500, or $750 per couple
Green Level Sponsorship means a $2000 gift, and can admit 6.
If you are coming to the "Countdown at Como's" please e-mail campaign manager Chris Silva at  silvachr@gmail.com  or Chuck Ream at moksha@umich.edu

This will be a lovely, fun, & productive afternoon party.
We have our space rented at Como's Restaurant, 22812 Woodward Ave., Ferndale, Sunday July 26, from 1 to 5 PM. Drink tickets will be provided, and we will serve a pizza and salad buffet at 3:00. MILegalize board members will be available for discussion, and we'll have a short and strong speakers lineup.

We will have a fine party July 26, and take another big stride toward LEGALIZING THE RIGHT WAY - WITH MILegalize!
PLEASE HELP US TO CAPTURE THE MATCHING FUNDS!!
PLEASE GIVE BEFORE THE END OF SUNDAY JULY 26!

I actually do not have any of the operational information for MILegalize campaign besides what is online etc. Well, unless you are in the Upper Peninsula, then I can help direct you to exactly what you asked for.

But there is a MILegalize Board member on these forums and I would direct ALL questions to him:

Jamieuke.

Thank you Malamute and thank you to all who have taken a position of support and for all who want to volunteer to help MILegalize!

The response has been over-whelming. There are nearly a 1000 volunteers around the state- more are needed, for sure, but the first 2-3 weeks of the campaign has gone very well. MILegalize is a viable campaign.

Recently, the site has been updated and there will be a few more changes- including shoring up some existing issues with communication and giving it a new look. I apologize to those who have had some issues and I appreciate the persistence of those who have contacted me and others about it. T-Pain has been very informative and has offered some useful feedback and good ideas- thank you T-Pain! Please keep using the site for info and to make contact or contact me or another board member if there are issues.

In the mean time Third Coast in Ypsi and Om in Ann Arbor have petitions. Cannabis Counsel has some in Detroit and by calling or contacting Nick Zetell- a pick up or drop off could be arranged. Komorn Law has some petitions and is helping people in Southfield- also Northern Lights in Madidon Heights and many others. The people Up North have been amazing and petition hubs can found in Gaylord with offices dedicated to the MILegalize campaign with Chad Morrow and company. These guys are really giving a lot of time and energy. The leaders and people working in Grand Rapids have been amazing- we had an excellent "Town Hall" style meeting there a few weeks ago. The Cultivation Station with Marcus in Traverse City as well a couple of the Provision Centers there, and another great place called Northern Lights in Oscoda County with John Wells - will all help to provide a place to sign, donate and learn how to help gathering signatures. There are more to be found on the site, as well including some in the U.P - in Marquette I know and as Malamute stated- contact him as well up there- especially on the West side.

MILegalize will have a discussion in Saginaw on Saturday the 18th at the Butman-Fish Library from 2-5pm there will be petitions and petition training available there. We were just in Iosco County last weekend with local leader Max Donovan. Helping with the Northern area consistently is Ron Langworthy and Brad Forrester who could also be contacted for assistance in that area.

Many events are planned for the 25th around the state including a golf outing in Jackson, a block party in Niles and several Northern cities making a push for funds before the period to get those funds matched- comes to an end.

There will also be the fundraiser dinner- posted here- on the 26th in Ferndale.

Again- Thank You!

Bob Redden- Thanks for your continuing help and support too!

MILegalize is the campaign to legalize cannabis *the right way* in Michigan. Our petitioners are on the street all over the state. Our campaign manager, Chris Silva, did the wolf campaign - and they won.

We have put into the bank our matching grant of $100,000 to properly get our campaign rolling . If we matched it we would have an initial bankroll of over a quarter of a million dollars, and we would be a significant political force.

However, only a bit under $30,000 has been raised to match our grant. I thank these generous donors very deeply, but this means that, right now, AROUND $70,000 MAY HAVE TO BE GIVEN BACK TO OUR DONOR - who has made it very clear that he wants to see MILegalize off the launch pad immediately.

MILegalize is having a really fun fundraising event next Sunday in Ferndale, to close out our matching funds period, take in checks, and assess where we stand.

"COUNTDOWN AT COMO'S" HAPPENS ON THE BEAUTIFUL OUTDOOR PATIO AT COMO'S RESTAURANT IN FERNDALE - NEXT SUNDAY JULY 26 FROM 1 TO 5 pm. (22812 Woodward Ave. at 9 Mile)
We need to raise every possible dollar, but **we have included a lower giving level** (so we can be more inclusive and have an extra fine time).
I will try to send the flier tomorrow. OUR GIVING LEVELS ARE NOW:

Silver Supporter- $50 per person, $75 couple
Gold Supporter- $200 per person, $350 couple
Platinum Supporter- $1000 per person, $1400 couple
Green Supporter- $2000 per person (up to 6 guests)

We will have top level speakers, including local Ferndale political leaders!
We hope to provide top level surprises, both as speakers and big contributions!
We will provide drink tickets and a delicious pizza and salad buffet.
We need to make every effort to raise money that WILL BE DOUBLED!

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT POLITICAL CONTRIBUTIONS HAVE GOT TO BE BY CHECK AND ONLY BY CHECK ... OR MONEY ORDER.
CASH CAN'T BE TAKEN IN!!
BY LAW WE NEED THE NAME AND ADDRESS OF EVERY CONTRIBUTOR - AND FOR CONTRIBUTORS OVER $100 WE NEED YOUR EMPLOYER AND EMPLOYERS PLACE OF BUSINESS.
YOU CAN DO IT! THIS IS HOW POLITICAL MONEY HAS TO COME IN.

It will be an excellent party, and you will learn exactly what is happening in Michigan up to the minute, and how to help MILegalize win real freedom for cannabis in Michigan!

Please contribute if you can't be there! Please use PayPal on our MILegalize website, or mail checks to our treasurer, Debra Young, 440 West Troy St. Ferndale mi 48220               THANKS!  WE NEED *YOU*

PLEASE GET THIS INFORMATION OUT ON SOCIAL  MEDIA!
WE HAVE TO REACH POTENTIAL SUPPORTERS WHO ARE FAR BEYOND THE LISTS WE NORMALLY USE.!!

MILegalize will hold our "Countdown at Como's" on Sunday afternoon in Ferndale...(at Como's restaurant, 22812 Woodward Ave, at 9 mile)
We will raise all the money we possibly can, total it all up, and see if we can meet the incredibly generous $100,000 in matching funds *that we have already received and banked*.
RECENT DEVELOPMENTS HAVE ACTUALLY PUT A FULL MATCH OF THIS $100,000 WITHIN REACH!!!
If we meet our match we will have a quarter of a million dollars, over 1000 volunteers, and we will be ready to roll - far stronger than our competitors - and our intensity must only increase until the end of our signature drive on Dec.24.
IN MICHIGAN WE HAVE A HUGE BASE, *IF WE COME TOGETHER* WE CAN WIN STATEWIDE LEGALIZATION *THE RIGHT WAY*.
We are off to an astoundingly good start, but we do need another half million dollars, and a lot more signature gatherers.
PLEASE be there! - or donate with PayPal on the website.
REMEMBER! POLITICAL CONTRIBUTIONS HAVE TO BE BY CHECK!
We will serve drinks and an EXCELLENT PIZZA AND SALAD BUFFET!
