If approved in a vote Wednesday, Colorado would become the 10th state to make PTSD a qualifying condition for medical pot. In addition, it would be the first condition added to Colorado's registry since voters approved medical marijuana 15 years ago.

The board has rejected PTSD petitions twice before, citing a lack of research. But this year, Dr. Larry Wolk, the state's chief medical officer, is recommending that PTSD be added on a four-year trial basis, so the outcome could change.

Wolk testified last year against such a move but now says his mind was changed by overwhelming evidence that people with PTSD have already been listed on the registry after citing severe pain as their ailment.

I wonder how many of those who voted against PTSD were ever actually in a combat environment.

I was. When I got back from Viet Nam, indeed when I was in Viet Nam and we got back from the field, the one thing that kept me sane was the thought that if I survived I could slip out to the perimeter bunkers and burn one. It was the only sane thing in an incredibly insane situation.

But of course it isn't about the vets who suffer. It is about the children. I wish they would all grow up.

thats only because they dont support medical mj in the first place, and legalization gives them an excuse to continue not supporting it.

at the meeting, someone should bring in a poster sign with a picture of a child smoking. then tell the panel how this sign is just a propaganda boogey man made with photoshop. that autistic patients are using oils and cookies , not joints and bongs.

the problem is that the entire premise of a panel is warped. california had it correct. ANY CONDITION that a DOCTOR thinks will help. thats it. let the doctor and patient decide medical treatments. when you put a roadblock, like a panel, between a patient and doctor, all that does is prevent a doctor from being able to treat a patient.

i understand the panel was a political football put into the ballot language to avoid the "california gives cards to people for a hangnail" nonsense soundbytes. But you've seen what these panels do instead. the appointed members dont show up, and when they do, they ignore any and all evidence and testimony and just make political decisions.

ok enough whining about things that cant be changed from me.
