Cops Thought They Killed The Security Cameras—Then They Ate The Pot

Recommended Posts

great find!!
I cant wait for the video release, but I have seen these before.

These are the finest officers the state could employ, or else they should not be given laser guided weapons and
militarized terror fighting equipment. What a pity. what types of people desire to be officers of the law
and behave this way?

Tell your kids that knocking books out of the dorks' hands may not be working in their best interests.

"Sometime after the three officers apparently consumed the edibles, one of them discovered a top that was in the dispensary and put it on the counter and started spinning it on the counter top. When it tipped over and stopped, one of them would pick it up and start spinning it again.

“This went on for, like, 15 minutes,” says James. “They just stared at the thing while it spun on the counter.”

been there

I would say they were severely impaired at work and all the work they did at the scene is suspect and should be disregarded as police work. Now the courts need to prosecute them them for B and E, possession with intent, throw the book at them. The protections they had as officers should be stripped from them just like a caregiver or patient who breaks the rules. What is good for the goose is good for the piggy.

After seeing similar enforcement behavior personally I believe this is business as usual with drug enforcement officers. And they have military weapons trained on faces of innocent people while acting this way.

We wonder why cops can "smash and grab" using their badge, while never charging anyone for a crime?  Do their bosses even know or are these rogue operators?  How would we know the difference with this style of enforcement?  No wonder they dress so thick, I would fear for my life too acting like this.

Who is responsible for allowing this behavior?  should the Mayor be ousted for this?  Police Chief?  where is the ACLU ?  kick the cripple?  really coppers?

if we can believe the center, their attorney, and the reporter, this should get national attention. Its rampant behavior in every city.

Santa Ana Cops In Pot-Eating Video Sue Their Own Employer
By Nick Schou

Wed., Aug. 5 2015 at 6:38 AM

Apparently at least three of the Santa Ana cops caught on video eating pot edibles, throwing darts and complaining about feeling "light-headed" after a raid on an illegal marijuana dispensary two months ago are still high.

The trio of officers, who are asserting their right under the Peace Officer Bill of Rights to remain anonymous, have filed suit against Police Chief Carlos Rojas and Santa Ana's internal affairs division. Their lawsuit seeks to prohibit the department from using footage of the officers during the raid that was recorded by security cameras and first made public by the both the Weekly and Voice of OC on June 11.

As anyone who has seen the tape already knows, before the cops presumably got the munchies, they took care to destroy every security camera they could find. However, the collective had a backup surveillance system in place that recorded the entire raid minute by hilarious minute.

After both the Weekly and the Voice of OC obtained the footage from the collective's lawyer, Matthew Pappas, and posted clips of the cops eating marijuana edibles, insulting a paraplegic, and boasting about bye-gone days of drinking and driving with the judge who signed the search warrant, online for all to see, the footage went viral, landing on news websites as far away as New York City and London, England. (Among the newspapers that ran stories on the pot-candy scandal was the Orange County Register, which first reported on the new cop lawsuit yesterday).

According to the lawsuit's rather befuddled logic, because the officers were videotaped without their prior consent, it would be unfair for the videotape to be used against them in any criminal or disciplinary proceeding. "It's pretty goofy that they would be doing this," Pappas said. "It makes them look really bad. This is like bank robbers going to a bank, painting over the cameras, missing one and then complaining that they can't be prosecuted because they have a right to privacy and they thad painted over all the cameras. It's a loony argument."

So the cops are suing because the surveillance video violated their privacy? Even though there was a sign posted saying video cameras were in use?

The dispensary's legal advisor had suggested installing the hidden back-up camera anticipating a possible police raid leading one to conclude the cops over-the-top behavior was already well known.

And yet the cops still think they are exempt?

Talk about the excesses of government entitlement spending should start with these boys and girls. The real irony is the police union suit will simply give the story longer legs.
